Again, I don't think you could knock the ball out of the park or allude a motivated state agency if you were a terrorist or something; but if you were in a similar position to the subject of the article you could probably avoid capture and maintain a semblance of normalcy.
As to latency; their tech woul;d be ~750[1] miles from the ground. They are targeting 1Gbps capabilities[2] vs a global avg of terrestrial companies around 20gbps. I don't know how viable that number is; but if it is physically possible then hitting 1/100th of that would still put immense pressure on ISPS as the floor for your weakest offering is 10gbps to be competitive. 2019 is scheduled date; so presumably 2020.

Then they could build in all the business logic to store driver and rider information securely as well as securely charge and pay them.
Then operate the business by marketing it and attracting drivers to the platform.
Subsidize Uber vs. All of That? On a 600K MAX budget for a town too small to seriously consider >2 buses, using an existing Lyft or Uber-esque service is a no brainer.
[1] I mean what google does is a lot more comkplicated than what Uber does. That said, google is alleging that large swathes of the Uber AI program are literally"exactly the same" as Waymo...
So a company might have close to 75% market share in an industry that matters and they would be a lot easier to prosecute vs the company w/ 100% market (a fleshlight, or other trivial niche thing)
To pretend a person is above criticism, or that these issues are 2 sided is absurd. This is an instance of what that poster (imo) is talking about.
Edit: what user jmyles is talking about. People are close to the median and also outliers. Saying you hate obama (or implying you disagree with a single policy during his administration as that post did) isn't a tacit endorsement or ballot punch for someone running in an unrelated election after he left office. That logic is very flawed
That said, obviously it was possible to turn around Yahoo, and the investors, Mayer and the company would be better off if she succeeded. I believe she tried genuinely hard to fix it and I believe she failed harder. Obviously, Microsoft is in a much different position but Nadella has had such success there that you would expect Mayer could've at minimum kept the company from failing.
It is much easier to make your correct info difficult to ascertain, than it is to remove it all.
Much like colleges the rigor varies a lot BUT unlike colleges you're class will have a massive impact on your educatoion.
I studied a lot before I went in, it is highly recommended. Some other students struggled because they did not do much prep. Some students were annoyingly inquisitive and volunteered off-topic stuff frequently, eating into class time.
Have a capstone project or goal in mind when going in and try to do some pared down version for a final project(nearly all I have researched have several projects).
If you (op) can, help her get familiar w/ a dev environment. Explain things in depth and assume little. I was learning the absolute basics and someone introduced me to git, rails, terminal, scaffolding and ruby over a 10min convo. Obviously, it is great to dive in, but finding out what is important and how things work is important. Show her text editors, basic command line, git ect. Resources like hacker news, stack overflow, and maybe shell into an AWS instance.
I think they can be great, but they require a lot of prep, and a lot of research
"This post is an interesting approach to B. I have looked in to A and B, but if you could explain why you chose A or B that would be helpful"

Latin is a dead language and no one speaks it. Sure it is helpful for understanding other languages, but I never got that comparison because the computer always speaks it.
Certainly imperfect paraphrase, but the crux is that you can always code python, or lisp ect.
He is right to some extent. People will step in and defend Musk with the obvious counterpoints so I won't bother. SpaceX is his most ambitious company, which is saying something. They have issues. They are transparent, and they handle them the right way, but they exist. Tesla does too, but missing projections at that level is a much different story.
The article basically compared Tesla missing financial guidance to SpaceX. Thats like saying that when Tesla misses a production goal, a cargo ship sinks with all their cars on it for the quarter.
Space X successfully recaptured that rocket, thats amazing. Missing a benchmark can be 1/12 of the companies revenue (more since they were grounded). Tesla is actually executing well and they have less consolidation risk
We thought it was hilarious and joked about it for weeks.
This was disgusting.
Obviously, it was super unprofessional, careless and stupid of a manager to hang out and drink w/ under aged interns. Given she wasn't an employee and it was mostly verbal harassment, I think it was sloppy and rude. However, getting hammered is sloppy.
I guess on balance, I have a higher tolerance for this stuff in society but I can understand the author's points as she is much more reasonable than most. Fowler as well.
The only thing I can't grep is retroactively doing a 180 on the sentiment of an event. Sure, maybe after a short period, like that manager probably did when he woke up thinking wtf have I done. But it doesn't sound particularly vile or threatening if it was a joke for everyone involved.
Either way, Uber has some culture issues. Tech does as well, and Uber sounds like a tough place to be a femsle
I wonder if they are far ahead enough to drop something that beats Ryzen on every metric including price. Either way, that would push it up quick.
What charity should I give money to?
I would love to have a talented teacher, so I would say mentorship, ect.
The EFF although they have more technical resources than most.
Depends on 100% what you are passionate about. Without that info the target is any non-profit
An artist seems to have to be general enough to appeal and be understood by an audience while original enough to be compared to other genius on method but not content.
That is abstract but hopefully the point was there. The second piece is groupthink. For example, what would happen if the first 10 well respected critics said his follow on novel was so brilliant it outshined his earlier work. I don't know, but there as a degree of taste shaping, a degree of originality & and a degree of tradition that make up the "value" and it is interesting to think about.
