vitorgrs··on Brazil Bans Online Betting
The problem with the regulation it's that it made safer for TV and clubs sign sponsor/ads. So after regulation the ads got insane.
vitorgrs··on Brazil Bans Online Betting
Another problem, at least here in Brazil, it's just it created a bubble in ad market. TV, soccer clubs are all betting. Nothing more. Even news channels have betting ads.

This imo totally distort the ad market, and you have companies with smaller capital (like retail) or younger companies who can't compete with bet money. This hurts real economy SO bad.

Cimed (Brazilian pharma) CEO just said today that he is going to sponsor soccer clubs now.

Let alone how it made a lot of people in debt, and this is hurting consumption a lot. The retail market was heavily favorable to the ban because of this.

Oh, there's also "cartels" like PCC and CV that are involved with it.

Worth to point out it's a "Provisional Measure". Basically a decree with law power as soon as President signs it. But congress need to vote in the next 6 months or else it it goes null.

The congress (and justice) it's where lobby power is right now, so it will be a very problematic long months...

If you ever tell you use AI on BlueSky, they will put your account on a list to be "shadowbanned" basically.

Are you really comparing chatbot to agentic/code work?

Why is Luna not free on OpenRouter? :)

vitorgrs··on Ox-Alpha Is GLM?
The reasoning levels are the same as GLM 5.3. GLM 5.3 is still not open...

I believe it's GLM 5.3 Flash or Air.

Just a warning, this is on Opus. There's not a clear harness winner. It will change depending on the models.
vitorgrs··on DeepSeek Harness developer preview
I just started testing, but didn't figured out if it already support MCP/plugins? It seems it can already use Deepseek search if it uses official API, but what about custom providers? Can we use together with MCPs like tavily?
vitorgrs··on Improving GPT‑5.6 Sol in ChatGPT, expanding GPT‑5.6 Luna access for free users
That's also using AI :).

ChatGPT already competes with Google...

vitorgrs··on Improving GPT‑5.6 Sol in ChatGPT, expanding GPT‑5.6 Luna access for free users
Luna is not bad, but... you feel is a small model. It have less knowledge. It's ok for purely agentic stuff (web searching etc).

If you just want to know "When it's the next full moon", yes. Very bad as google can answer in 1s.

There was already thinking in free model though. They removed the option a while ago and made it automatic... But you could force by just saying "think hard" or whatever.

OpenAI can't even build Codex app (not cli) for Linux... I thought code was solved?!

Ironically it's Electron BS, so actually, Sol could probably build itself...

There is a ton of vertical dramas now (Duanju) made purely of AI. Even on chinese streaming services you find it.

Yeah, very weird launch. I was like... where's the videos?
vitorgrs··on Passkeys were invented by engineers with zero understanding of consumer brain
That might change on the country. At least here in Brazil, all logins require some sorth of MFA.

This changes by banks, some send code to our phone number (thought WhatsApp or SMS), others send SMS+email + face ID. All of them require at least the face ID. Some biggest banks requires you to go to ATM to authorize app access. You insert your card, password and authorize there.

There's Mercado Pago, which supports passkeys and standard MFA too. So you can store on bitwarden even.

I really like it, especially how it can easily get search from Codex/Gemini/etc.

Yes? And even for simple interactions, they use SVG by default.
vitorgrs··on Qwen 3.8
One of my tests to see if "we are there", it's to ask a list of mayors from my city. Sounds silly, but most models just create random mayors that never existed.

Without search, of course. In theory this should be easy, because clearly the Wikipedia data it's in the model.

And I remember Sam Altman saying 2 years ago or more, that hallucination was already "fixed" internally. Well, clearly not.

Xi Jinping openly talked about open source at WAIC. So don't think the labs have much a choice now...

Deepseek 4 "final" version is imminent as well.

Will probably be at Opus 4.8 level, and I find it pretty big deal because of Deepseek price...

vitorgrs··on NYC may require landlords and realtors to disclose the use of AI in listings
I wish there would be a similar thing for food as well. In my country (Brazil), food apps such as iFood are FULL of AI images. Worse is that iFood don't allow reviews to post pictures, so you get very blind asking it.

Now Didi came (99) and Keeta, and they at least allow users to post reviews with pictures.

phone number is the main way China services uses (I think it's even mandatory for social networks, as phone number there function almost like "ID")

Here it is also a version made with GPT 5.6 Sol Ultra: https://x.com/mweinbach/status/2077928859572310450

Not the author. Just found very interesting and very impressive how Kimi managed to "create" even the Mac apps. GPT 5.6 also made a good job, but it seems it failed to proper create all the apps and the features inside.

I wonder how good a Fable version would be.

Knowing today's Brazil, the family would probably get a considerable amount of followers on Instagram, for weird reasons.
vitorgrs··on Claude Code sends 33k tokens before reading the prompt; OpenCode sends 7k
Not only a Claude Code issue. Started using OMP with GPT 5.6, and gave up, it loves to use subagents, and it's basically unusable subagents with GPT 5.6 Sol there with Plus limits.
vitorgrs··on GPT-5.5 Codex reasoning-token clustering may be leading to degraded performance
It's been a month I've been using it as they gave me for free, and I found GPT-5 on Codex quite weird/awful. Even x-high. Then I figured out I should try OMP (Pi), and the experience was much better.

I remember GPT 5.2 Codex being fine...
