vit05··on A source emailed me his life’s work. Then, he ended his life
A source emailed me his life’s work. Then, he ended his life

A pardon expert emailed me his life's work. Then he killed his two sons and himself.

I'm not from USA. I had no idea about this story. When I started reading the article, I started with a feeling of sadness. It always makes me sad to know that someone was facing a problem so great that only saw end their own life as the only solution

If I had started reading the second title, from USA Today, I would have started with the idea that it was the last moments of a monster. And a feeling of anger instead of sadness. It's unbelievable how titles, and photos, can mess with the way you'll face a story you're just beginning to read.

vit05··on Reddit holds the secret to fixing Facebook
All Reddit users will disagree. I prefer to use Reddit, but he is not an example of anything right now. It is suffering as much as any other platform that offers a space for discussion. Besides being completely populated by Bots and groups that act in an orchestrated way.
vit05··on Stephen Hawking has died
My grandmother had ALS. I remember when my mother went to tell me about her disease she gave me his book[1]. It helped me in two ways, to research more about the disease, many articles were about him, and to learn more about the universe.

Rest in peace. https://www.amazon.com/Universe-Nutshell-Stephen-William-Haw...

vit05··on Lyft says its revenue is growing nearly 3x faster than Uber’s
UBER has already cemented a path around the world. He is facing legal battles in an attempt to demonstrate that his business is legitimate and beneficial to society. All others will have the facilities to travel in this vacuum.

But it will reach a point where the dispute will not be with the old business models related to mobility. And at this point, it will make sense to compare these companies. But at the moment it makes no sense to compare revenue.

vit05··on Operation Serenata de Amor – An AI project to analyze public spending in Brazil
Some people are missing the point. The project does not have the idea of seeking congressmen who spend a lot on their meals. Of course, that could help them spend a little less.

But the idea is to find irregularities. That is, a congressman who says he had lunch at such a restaurant, but by analyzing the invoice and the address we find that this restaurant never existed. Or a gas station that does not really work anymore.

This is very common. It is not an analysis of what they do with their wages. These congressmen receive compensation beyond their wages to spend when working in their regions. This compensation has a value of four to five times more than their salary.

vit05··on Cricle aquires Poloniex
I found this news incredible. Poloniex is a great exchange, but it has many problems to escalate. Support is one of the worst that exists and any problem you take takes weeks or months to resolve. Besides, nobody knows very well who the owners are, there is little transparency on basic issues. And with that confusion about USDT, no one knew the exchange's position and if they actually have liquidity.
vit05··on Best practices for user account, authorization and password management
This happens to me and I'm already pissed off. It's a lot of emails from people who miss something in the address. Worse, these same people try several times to retrieve the password of an email that they do not have. Or put my email as a password recovery from their addresses. I get invoices from card accounts, personal emails, work emails.

I've tried to search information in google forums to prevent them from putting my email as a recovery without the confirmation and apparently it is not possible.

They create account in instagram, twitter, uber using my email and I need to go to the service to cancel the use of this address. Many times I have account with this address in certain service, but they sign up using a dot between the names and it ends up redirected to my email.

I try to warn them but just ignore them. Since December I received this gigantic amount of requests to change my password, in none of them did I request it.

vit05··on CNN Is Closing Down Beme, YouTube Star Casey Neistat’s Video Company
The great thing about Neistat is the way he tells a history. About him, about a product, about a trip. Beme News has never tried tell any history.
vit05··on Ending Bitcoin Support
This is great news and opportunity for OmiseGO, Ethereum and Stellar. Solid projects with respectful and well know developers team that do not directly compete against Bitcoin.
vit05··on Bitcoin.org removes “fast” and “low fees” from Bitcoin description page
Your assumption is wrong, that is why you do not understand. The inventor could, or could not receive money. This is the beauty of an open and decentralizes invention. The inventor is not the owner.

But people who participate and invest from the start can make money if the project succeeds. So the economic incentives for those involved are greater than the incentives in a walled garden.

vit05··on Browserling goes viral with cheap phone users trying to use WhatsApp

vit05··on Browserling goes viral with cheap phone users trying to use WhatsApp
> "It turns out users in India can't easily make online USD purchases with credit or debit cards as it requires a special bank permission."

And people still think Cryptocurrency will not unbank the world. I am not talking only about Bitcoin, but there is a necessity for a new way to exchange value, store value and buy things without the limits that the place where you live decided to impose.

vit05··on Uber Co-Founder Travis Kalanick Said to Plan Sale of 29% of Stake
>regulators and the public

My question is: Why do we need separate this two "faces"? And if we need, even when they want the same thing, should we have both?

vit05··on Show HN: Handwriting for the web
Was the site hacked?

BTW, I little of topic about the site, but on topic about handwriting. Is there any research about using handwriting on mobile as password?

Not just put your choice word and type on the keyboard, but writing using your fingers.

vit05··on Amazon, Facebook and Google can all be beaten
I think we will see a battle for DISCOVERY option. The search will be for things that you need an answer. But discovery is something bigger. Like when you click the Magnifying GlassIcon on Instagram, or you open Pinterest. They give you things that are randomly generated but is not exactly from people that you are following.

The best tool to suggest things that interest, that you need or want without collect too much personal information could kill all 3 with just one shot.

vit05··on Gmail Launches Add-ons
I have changed the DNS and now it is working correctly. Two days ago, a problem occurred with the modem and they changed the device. All settings were on automatic.

But I really can not understand why blog.google did not work right away, and why it was routed to a canada DNS.

I am using Google Chrome and Firefox.

Tks for take the time to help. The internet provider that I am using is called netcombo.com.br and in the past, they have blocked the use of others DNS and some services. I do not know if that is the case now.

I have asked for others using the same internet provider to test and will update when they done.

Edit. So, others using the same provider reporter that https://www.blog.google do not open there.

vit05··on Facebook acquires anonymous teen compliment app tbh, will let it run
I was working on an app that used a lot of emojis. And searching for similar design app, tbh came to my attention. It was really similar to what I was doing in term of design using strong colors and a big emoji. But the idea was totally different.

Teens and Kids really love this combination. And the app is simple and fast, It is like play a game. You could imagine kids playing and smiling.

vit05··on A Social Network Doling Out Millions in Ephemeral Money
There is a difference between paying people to create content in a desert and allowing anyone to monetize their audience. In every current social network there are people profiting from the content that they share or create. About good content, I think it's more a question of the tools offered to discover, selection and moderation of what is created.
vit05··on Bitcoin Paper Wallets (2015)
Paper Wallets is to storage your Bitcoin offline. You do not need to use paper. You could use metal, acrylic, tattoo in your body.

How does Dollar work offline? How much do you have in your pants? Because if the world goes offline, Banks would not have all the "money" necessary to give it back to people.
vit05··on Google signs agreement with HTC
Someone has made a terrible deal, and the other an awesome deal. But we will only be certain in one year.

It is impossible something like this be good to both, losing 100 people that have worked on the best project that the company has worked in the last years.

Or overpaid for just some people that are not soo great, as they thought.

vit05··on Kik could pave the way for more mainstream tech company ICOs
I think that a mainstream company starting using Tokens and showing the potential of Blockchain to others is more important than the ICO. In this moment, we need a successful case of use of Tokens in large scale.
