vibbix··on 98.css
Thank you so much for your project! I have spent the last few months working on my own retro computing CSS library, but instead inspired by BeOS https://beta.mtechnic.me

PS: while doing research on my project, I found your portfolio site as well. Was shocked to see we had the exact same taste in music, and genuinely made me curious if everyone whose doing retro throwbacks libraries did as well.

vibbix··on Open Source Resistance: keep OSS alive on company time
This would be amazing to see upstreamed! I did some similar work for optimizing batch calls for the Quartz Scheduler. I left before it got merged, but was able to follow up and get it in as it was already PR'd.

vibbix··on VitruvianOS – Desktop Linux Inspired by the BeOS
Pleasant surprise to hear about this. I've had a fascination with BeOS & Haiku for decades. I am now actually developing a custom website layout themed after BeOS (good excuse to learn Figma!)
vibbix··on XMLUI
I spent a summer working on XAML UI's for an internship, and recently dove back in as a side project to update some Windows specific apps that rely on WinForms(https://github.com/hass-agent/hass.agent). XML UI's are fairly underrated imo.

vibbix··on Dell L502X BIOS Update installer patching
I still have my L702X in my closet next to me! The machine lasted me 7.5 years. Thanks for the throwback reminder.

vibbix··on Paperless-ngx: scan, index and archive all your physical documents
Everything for the document (fonts, images, etc) are all stored within the document file. It's entirely self-contained.
vibbix··on Full text search over Postgres: Elasticsearch vs. alternatives
Thanks for the clarifications! I've been spending the last 3 weeks deep in the weeds of TF/IDF scoring and was about to give up on Elastic Search when this got posted. The article has been eye opening!!!
vibbix··on Pixel-Composer – Node based VFX compositor for pixel art
Really cool!! Website for mobile can use a little work, a lot of the sub headers get truncated a bit much.

vibbix··on Ask HN: What Happened to iOS Widgets?
There's a fare amount happening in the custom scene for widgets (like there is for KWGT on Android). Checkout the scriptable app!

vibbix··on All in with Nuitka
I'd imagine a combination of runtime extension checking, and baseline extension support. I.e. when you pass -mavx2 or -march=native to your Cxx compiler, it sets the baseline minimum for what op codes are used.
vibbix··on Evernote to be acquired by Bending Spoons
The GUI is giving me Windows XP Plus! pack throwbacks, thank you for sharing.
vibbix··on I made a virtual bookshelf
