CT scans of BYD car components. BYD is fully vertically integrated at a level unseen since early 20th-century Ford.

X-ray CT scans compare real and counterfeit Apple Watches, Labubus, golf balls, and Dyson hairdryers

But a conventional CT scanner costs $300k-$1m plus $50-100k per year for software licenses and maintenance contract. Lumafield’s basically giving you the entire system for just the annual software/support cost on an older-style machine. My company is considering one and it’s a more attractive model once you start comparing realistic costs.

Interesting to see how the chaff evolves. I didn’t know that was a term used outside wheat.

Well, I guess I’m saving up for a CT scanner now.

The company where that article is hosted sells the CT scanners used to create that scan. Starting at $75,000/year (industrial CT is much less expensive than medical)

Their scan viewer software now works on mobile devices: https://app.lumafield.com/project/a5a9c7ef-d1c9-426e-9e2a-63...
