The previous comment is an internet meme that originated from the film American Psycho. Nonetheless you made a good point, however I think that most people don't need an extensive skincare routine like that :)
I like your idea as well! In theory it could be solved, but that introduces new challenges, a 2fa key usually lasts for 30s and you have to be fast enough to enter it. For the start a staff person running around to peoples desks with a mobile device that has the codes registered could be more practical. The boxes will still only work for people that are able to reliably keep possessions to themselves.
It‘s quite hard to provide a second factor if you can‘t have any belongings because you either lose them or they get stolen (eg. homeless people battling addiction). Personal devices and yubikeys are ruled out. Biometric features could be another factor, although hard to implement.
At a library, a staff member could create authenticator codes for people who often visit and are recognized by the staff. The visitor would then request to see the code if they need it. Of course this is a lot of effort for the library to identify people and the visitors must rely on their local library, they still can’t access their e-mail if they are on a device somewhere else.
A very noble decision. I bet your collection sparked the interest in mechanics or kept the mind off some trouble for some less privileged kids rather than collecting dust in a collector’s show room.
I heard it‘s not uncommon to approach companies that maybe could make use of the patent in the future or that are already potentially violating your patent. You approach them and suggest they license your patent to avoid a future lawsuit against you.
I think you should provide the source of the results.
Also, I don't agree with the premise that to solve a problem all it needs is a code block and the explanation given is not relevant. I mean we often do just that but understanding why a solution will work or why not is key to learning how to do things in the future without looking them up. Another problem with the lack of comments is that the reader won't notice that a solution is outdated, even though someone noted that on the original StackOverflow page that the snipped originates from.
Despite that the project looks very clean and fast for its start and I haven't encountered any technical problems :)
Apple page for the new 16 inch says it is 1.68 cm thick and the old 2019 16 inch was 1.62 cm so at least the larger model actually got thicker. I previously assumed that both sizes had at least the same thickness.
A good size to resolution ratio.
My MacBook drives a 27 inch 4K in scaled mode that looks like 2560 x 1440 pixels. What the OS actually does is it renders a 5K image and then scales it down. The scaling is x 0,75 which can be a resource hog. I guess it would be better to downscale by 0,5 which would happen if you’d run an actual 5K monitor like the LG Ultrafine. This would still give you a sane scaling, anything else is either too large or too small on a 27 inch. The culprit is that there’s almost no 5K monitors on the market and the LG model is way too expensive. At this point I could just get a newer computer to iron out the scaling issue.
I’ve been thinking about how this could be retrofitted to an existing frame. The generator is too big but it could be mounted in front of the crank shaft under the frame and then be connected via simple gears or a short chain. This would still have said benefits.
I think the possibility to choose when to save energy and when to put it out you mentioned is possible with a conventional e bike but not all bikes support this due to legislation.
I found out it actually allows me to play on the same account on two separate devices. The official apple music apps reliably stop my attempts to abuse my one person membership. Maybe this means that authorised applications aren't checked as thoroughly for this.
They‘re apparently not caring a whole lot. If you play that a song from that album it will show the static cover art. Also it seems to me like the bigger ‘full screen’ like artworks are reserved to major labels or at least come at a premium.
Used this until recently too but the keys where actually really not smooth to press. The big ISO enter key is especially bad, because it needs to be pressed in the right spot to move. I can confirm the trapped crumbs which are almost impossible to remove because the keyboard is really not easy to open up. I remember it having more than 30 screws scattered on the metal plate.
Browsers typically let you define a user stylesheet somewhere in the settings. I tried it in Safari with a simple `body {@font-face {font-display: optional;}}` but I could't verify if it has any effects. I think it is difficult because @font-face will be evaluated differently than usual css, say `color: red`. Maybe someone who has a better understanding of css could try it...
Thank you very much, this is exactly the satisfactory solution I haven't found when I was looking for it before! I expected that the iPhones screen recording was only available in Quicktime and not for third-party apps like OBS. Going to try it out soon with an old iPhone 5, I hope it supports streaming video from the camera in the browser.
Also really improves the microphone placing problem. On the desk my microphone would always be in my hands way or in front of the monitor and the cable was annoying too. I built a cheap microphone arm out of an Ikea swinging desk lamp (Tertial). It required some time but was a fun project and now I have a matching arm to my desk lamp.
I would have recommended TheoTown but apparently they moved to a time based IAP model with their mobile app. The steam version is still a single time purchase and a great game for the low price.
While checking out TheoTown on the App Store I found out that there is a paid Tropico version that seems to be a full game.
Did you just not feel like arguing with the app store review team or was it a clear decision between changing it or leaving the app store? The author of amphetamine told that there was a similar problem but apparently he could settle this.
> Amphetamine updates have been rejected by Apple on numerous occasions. One time, Apple’s App Review Team did not like my “Preview” screen shots. Another time, Apple objected to the default behavior when clicking Amphetamine’s menu bar icon, saying it must open the menu by default and not start a session.
I guess I use the same method. For a year or so, I forced myself to drink an additional liter of water per day and I didn’t feel any difference from it, except that I had to go to the toilet all the time. The only problem that arises now is that I tend to forget that I’m a bit thirsty because of the ubiquitous distractions in our lives.
Seems like it's easier to save up that amount of money if you're working at a position that is high enough to personally tell the CEO of Google to GFY.
I wonder if there is a way to salvage the microphones from the isight as well. Author hasn't lost a word about it so I guess it has been discarded.
I still have a knock-off iSight from eBay which was quite similar but of course had worse image and production quality. One advantage is that it features a thread on the bottom so it can be mounted to a small tripod which still looks quite nice. I use it for a time-lapse project that records the growth of a plant by taking a photograph every 15 minutes. The image resolution is a lot better than the video resolution on these things but still years behind the pi camera I guess.
Are the songs in the example images just placeholders or is there an actual way to use the music from major artists like Bieber or Maroon 5 "for free" as it appears?
Also I didn't receive an email/your throwaway mail recognition works.
I guess that‘s always the case with the preferred content. I don‘t care about Schlager clap-along shows with enormous budgets but it‘s what a lot of people like. On the other hand most of the people won‘t care about my beloved Arte and late night shows.
Same in Germany but the tax is a fixed price of EUR 17.50 each month per household and no escape from it except for very few special cases (e.g. university students receiving financial support from the state).
Personally I agree with a mandatory monthly cost but it is way too high, should be in proportion to household income and the people in the upper ranks of the broadcasting companies shouldn't earn absurdly high wages and pensions.
Despite that I like to support proper journalism that is accessible to everyone and content that is often ad-free to watch/listen/read.
