vertebrate··on Monaspace
I've been using it for years, just want to say thank you, given the occasion.
vertebrate··on Where do fonts come from? Monotype, mostly
Your rendering issue sounds like the one described here: https://blog.vladzahorodnii.com/2021/12/31/more-consistent-f...
vertebrate··on Htmx is part of the GitHub Accelerator
As I understand it https://github.com/hyperfiddle/electric provides an abstraction at least over the network divide.
vertebrate··on Simply explained: How does GPT work?
> I base that on the fact that people seemed to spend quite a bit of time trying to find the phrase "the confetti has left the cannon" that GPT-4 phrased. It seems Google search has no records of it before then?

Could it be that the expression in some form has been used in languages other than English?

It looks like a fork of Luxi Mono with slashed zero, which is available in ttf. And there is a more modern version of it with better character coverage -- Go Mono.

`r` is a little weird with its wide flat top, otherwise it's a great font. Would love to see Greek and Cyrillic support too.
vertebrate··on Firefox Quantum Lands in Beta, Developer Edition
Here's mine (fx55): http://i.cubeupload.com/AvH2Cc.png profile1: 6 windows, ~900 tabs; profile2: 2 windows, ~300 tabs. cold start takes about 2 minutes (on nvme ssd), next are slightly better. Startup time improvements were supposed to be in 55, right?

vertebrate··on Mozilla Acquires Pocket
You are not alone, but I just use bookmarks for that. Is using Pocket any different from that, e.g. does it save pages internally so if the original site goes down the page will still be available in Pocket?
vertebrate··on Mozilla Acquires Pocket
There is an option in `about:config` for that -- `services.sync.sendTabToDevice.enabled`, disabled by default. Suggest you to enable it and try it out.
vertebrate··on Forth: The Hacker’s Language
Why do you think some of the so-called hacker languages were pretty popular at a time (perl, lisp), and not the others (forth, apl?)
vertebrate··on Container Tabs
try this, as simple as in chrome https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/profilist/
vertebrate··on Many LASIK patients may wind up with glare, halos or other visual symptoms
Is anyone here using ortho-k lenses? I've replaced my usual soft contacts and been wearing them for half a year now and it's so much easier on the eyes. Although I still see slight halos and by the evening my vision is noticeably worse, I can't complain. And I have an option to undo all this, unlike some poor LASIK patients.
