Are there people on the autism spectrum at leadership level? - Steve Jobs was considered to be one even though he was not formally diagnosed as one.
Are there people on ADD/ADHD spectrum at leadership levels - yes, I know of a few..
Are there people with sociopathic tendencies at leadership level - You can answer this one :)
The fact he did not even spot the actual problem is worrying. Did someone know that the button color was changed in the new version of the software?
I have seen abject poverty growing up in India.. It is right in your face most of the times. I have friends from the other side of the street and pretty much, you live in very different realities.
If so, I do not know how to tell you that this sounds insane..
US was all into destroying Afghanistan and Iraq. They had no intention of being there long term.
I would love to understand why you think it is punitive for the ultra rich.
If you all you can find are the minimum wage jobs and you choose not to work there, then you should be considered unemployed and if you are long term unemployed, U6 captures that.
When I am writing the code, my mind tracks what I have done and the new pieces flow. When I am reading code written by someone else, there is no flow.. I have to track individual pieces and go back and forth on what was done before.
I can see myself using LLMs for short snippets rather than start something top down.
If you agree that the actions of the current administration are detrimental to the US over long term, those are the consequences.
Take Alabama or Oklahoma for example - their policies have made those states backward. People in those states have poor education outcomes, less wealth and less health, lower social mobility etc. It impacts everyone in those states. Either the opposition needs to mobilize, message better etc. or the voters need to compare and realize what they are missing. If not, they will continue to face the consequences.
I will take the last one first. When I was managing large teams, my assumption is that a developer spends about 25% of the time actually coding. Let us say, AI makes them 50% more productive. So, you got a real gain of 12.5%. It is nowhere as huge as you put on your chart.
AI coding seems really great for one-off prototypes or some small, well-defined pieces, but they are not ready for production code. Multiple research papers have found AI code to be less secure, more buggy etc and they hinder rather than help experienced developers. So, you are going to lose even more of the hypothetical 12.5% gain here.
Finally, your post seems to say that the developers are not prioritizing your work, not that they are not working. Even if they are more productive, there is still no guarantee your feature will get prioritized.
The solution to your stated problem seem to be inability to get your work prioritized and nothing to do with AI or developer productivity.
While typing it, I realized it is actually more expensive in US than just a mouth to feed. Medical insurance, car insurance, car payments (you need a car), all add up to much more.
Choice quotes: “Many Chinese [nationals] have handlers; they [CCP] want to know everything that's going on at Stanford. This is a very normal thing. They just relay the information they have.”
"Drawing on anonymous testimony from faculty, students, and China specialists, our investigation confirms that the CCP runs an extensive intelligence‑gathering network at Stanford."
And they end up a patriotic jingo - "The nation that develops superior technologies will gain a critical military edge over its adversaries. China cannot be that nation. Working together, U.S. universities and the federal government need to take serious steps to defend the integrity of our nation’s mission-critical research. The future of freedom depends on it."
A media control does not need government to act openly. A mind-numbing patriotism can be as effective. Look at US reporting on the aftermath of 9/11. How many papers argued against Iraq or Afghanistan war? How many papers are talking about Gaza now? or even covering hands-off rallies?
Great leap forward killed 4% of Chinese population. Vietnam war killed 10% - 12% of people in Vietnam. I do not see condemnation of US here..Rather, I see the celebration that US has a democracy.
If you are so inclined, one was had good intentions, but backfired badly while other is explicitly cruel.
