underseacables

This seems lite on facts. Even if I wanted to arrest a sitting judge, it would have to be an act of gross malfeasance to motivate me to even consider arrest. The only thing I can think of… Is, if the judge swore under oath, affidavit, or something like that, that she did not do something when in fact that she did. But even then…

If Patel does not come back with some thing on that level or better, then this was a horrible farce.

I asked an LLM if it would keep my data private and it said absolutely. It wouldn't lie to me would it?

It's almost a little bit of psychology. If someone says please and thank you, it might give them better responses, but to not say it might get less better responses. I don't think it should matter...

I think corporate responses to most things like this is to deny and avoid until forced to get involved. It should not take WaPo getting involved but it seems to be the norm for big tech companies.

How could you tell?

I think this is bombastic. What information could they have that Meta, data brokers, and companies have about us already? I just don't see the concern. No one has privacy

I have been to 4chan maybe 4 times in my life. The first was like ok.. Then I visited /b and LOL'd for a couple of hours. Then it just got redundant and depressing. It really is the arsehole of the internet, but some people seem to find it useful.

Alright then, deleting my Lyft account.

We've always heard stories that your phone is listening to you, well, it is.

They really should be two separate agencies. There should be one agency that is just for drugs, and another agency for food.

To a worm in horseradish the world is horseradish.

It's an echo chamber for the left, the same as X is now for the right. Ideas and opinions unchallenged or questioned is what people want.

I missed the social spontaneity of office life, despite the negatives.

I disagree with Ars view and think they were saved by Dragon. Starliner was a failure, and it was a political decision that kept them up there.

Really don't like this. It's smacks of corruption. I don't really care for Le Pen, she's not a good candidate, but the court should not be allowed to suspend someone from running for office. That's the voters job.

I have always adored Aptera, but BYD and Tesla will always eat their lunch. I've been out to the factory in San Diego and driven Luna. It was awesome, but sadly I just don't think it will get funding. The government REALLY screwed them over, not once, but twice with the vehicle loan program. Really wonderful people and an amazing car.

Windows needs to be taken away from Microsoft and made into its own company. It's the same anticompetitive monopoly tactics from the past.

You can make your own ALPR, it's quite easy.

I noticed that in the early 00s, GAP would produce a product, then use cheaper materials and sell it through Old Navy, and use more expensive material the sell it through Banana Republic. Same style, different materials.

FYI. They have been decriminalized in the District of Columbia for a while now.

Well, Bill Bryson wrote about it in his book down under. Also, when I was in Sydney last September, I asked the tour guide about it, and she confirmed that it was true. He never got to see his creation because he was turned away at the border.

I confess that I've been using a pirated version of office for years and years. When I can no longer use that then I will upgrade to libre office.

My wife went through this for a minute. Only when she knew there was gluten did it set off an insensitivity. If she didn't know there was gluten in it, she didn't react.

Fun fact: The designer of the Sydney Opera House was turned away at the border when he came to see it, because he had an inordinate amount of pornographic material with him. He never got to see his creation in person.

Given the number of incidents reported we can draw two assumptions: 1) They were not looking or 2) They were but it was not media reported as they are now.

If one were honestly pessimistic they might say that this is always done, but only due to politics is it being reported.

Part of me thinks this was deliberate.

But the wealthy and government officials always have their vehicles.

I had a lawn and it cost money to maintain but ..I liked it. I liked the space it gave my kids to play, for me to play, and I liked the dark green grass; the area got lots of rain. The lush green is pleasing to the eye but I do agree that we should be as environmentally concious about it as we can in avoiding pesticides and other harmful chemicals

This has absolutely nothing to do with technology, it is purely political, and should not be here.

I helped a friend in Brazil for a year by sending him a little money each month; less than $100. It would've made next to no difference in the life of an American, but where the exchange rate is 1 to 5, it made a significant difference in his life.

Unfortunately, it only made that difference for him because of the low exchange rate. If he were to receive free money from the government, for example, businesses with just raise their prices to account for the extra money in the system. Prices would go up and he would be left in the same situation that he was in.
