Just asking, for a friend :)
Of course, as a fairly unremarkable middle-aged white guy, I didn't get stopped at all.
Compare and contrast with speculation about what happened to Ukraine's gold: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-18/ukraine-admits-its-...
As evidence that it most certainly does, I would suggest the work of Dr. Daniele Ganser (University of Basel, Switzerland) on Operation Gladio - NATO-sponsored terrorism in post-WW2 Europe, a notable example of which is the Bologna rail staion massacre, which killed 85.

He also did an interesting lecture on 9/11, examining the evidence on the tenth anniversary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fUT7XgLiTY

"volcanos erupted causing a cold period that lasted from the 1600s to the late 1800s"
Correlation vs causation - while the volcanic winter phenomenon is well-known, there are those that propose that solar activity is the primary driver of climate on Earth:

Not to say that the greenhouse effect is not real, or that anthropogenic CO2 does not cause warming - just that the magnitude of the effect may well be greatly over-hyped.
How about the truth is somewhere in between? Some people are scheming - and some schemes do come off successfully.
There has been nothing but scheming and counter-scheming since this U.S. election - the removal of General Flynn being, according to some commentators, just the latest example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j_ZfKmcnSk
