tunetine··on Ask HN: Any job boards and age-friendly companies for older developers?
Sure man, you can dye anything. Just for Men mustache and beard.
tunetine··on The Bitcoin Cash Flippening
Don't worry, it's going below $5,800.
tunetine··on The Bitcoin Cash Flippening
It's only down 1k. You want to buy now? It's like catching a falling knife.
tunetine··on Alibaba hits nearly $18B in ‘Singles Day’ orders in 12 hours
I feel like the deals in the U.S. have really gone downhill or maybe they were never deals to begin with. The internet has made everything pretty transparent at least.
tunetine··on Alibaba hits nearly $18B in ‘Singles Day’ orders in 12 hours
If you're in the U.S. just wait a few more years because this is what Amazon models their Prime day after.
tunetine··on Beer giant ABI bought many craft brews and is now buying beer rating websites
"Yet you could have gone to AliExpress and bought the same none branded mattress for $100."

You proved the statement to be false. Not to mention, what you have posted are coil mattresses. Companies like Casper and Tuft mark-up quite a bit if AliExpress is "warehouse" pricing, but it's really not outrageous.

I didn't check the others but Casper and Leeza are twice the cost as a Tuft and Needle now. It's interesting to see how much they're raising prices with so many competitors and little to no differentiation. It must mean if you walk into a mattress store, you're paying well over the $1k.

I see one mattress on AliExpress unless you're looking for a very thin European? mattress or pad. $300+ for a Queen.
tunetine··on China orders Bitcoin exchanges in capital city to close
Cite this please.
tunetine··on Bitcoin dropping after BTC China said it is closing
There is definitely levels, but not for something where there is not even a range of concensus value.
tunetine··on Bitcoin dropping after BTC China said it is closing
Comparing bitcoin to otc penny stocks is where we're at this point. I see bitcoin as more stable, but that doesn't really say much.
tunetine··on Ask HN: What are best practices for buying / storing cryptocurrencies
Is there any way to exchange your money for bitcoin and just put it in a 'personal wallet' if you don't want to store it on somewhere like coinbase, etc?
tunetine··on Tesla flips a switch to increase the range of some cars in Florida
The evacuation orders were only for low level areas. Half of the state is pretty much out of harms way and could make a run for it at this point, if they choose.
tunetine··on How Many Years of Life Does That House Cost?
Sell it and rent. The bank won't even come close to the true value of the home for a reverse mortgage.
tunetine··on Three Equifax Managers Sold Stock Before Cyber Hack Was Revealed
Am I the only one surprised a CFO is making this amount of money?
tunetine··on Launch HN: Lyrebird (YC S17) – Create a digital copy of your voice
I remember it too vaguely at this point but something was mentioned in the beginning while I was waiting. I feel like it was worded along the lines of a promo or I wouldn't have told the rep. I wasn't interested multiple times. "Verifying is now easier and more secure with voice verification..."
tunetine··on Launch HN: Lyrebird (YC S17) – Create a digital copy of your voice
Fidelity began verifying voice for telephone customer service a short while back. They recorded me during the call then at the end said they were going to use it to verify for future calls. No way to opt out.
tunetine··on ICO of the day: Synthetic rhino horn erection pills, on the Blockchain
Add this to yesterday's Paris Hilton news and I'm pretty sure we've just spotted the top of the bubble.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
4/100 countries on that list seem like a pretty big anomaly to me.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
There's no need for anyone to switch at this point. Also, an ACH from Coinbase is 4-5 days not 1 day. Japan is an edge case with a very small population. They have -0.1 interest rate. That is nothing compared to what you might lose based on the wild fluctuations Bitcoin incurs.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
Does that belief change when your hard-earned money loses a few hundred/thousand dollars in value over a few hours, for no apparent reason?
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
I don't see any arguments from the commenters here that convince me in the slightest. It's like magic to them. As long as they believe, it has value.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
It's actually less useful. You already have banks doing the exact same thing for free, while insuring your money, you don't get hit 3% for transferring it into the bank, and there's interest accrued, not wildly shifting value where you might lose half in a few hours.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
Are you for real? I feel like we're being trolled by Bitcoin holders who want to keep the value propped up.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
DNM is something I had to look up. I don't have to explain why going to the store and being able to purchase something with Bitcoin is not the same as buying drugs on the black market.
tunetine··on Bitcoin Gets Close to $5,000
Probably when it is used mainly as actual currency, not for speculation or black market exchanges and laundering.
tunetine··on U.S. Employers Struggle to Match Workers with Open Jobs
No, and I'm not sure why. Maybe because doctors have unlimited demand and are considered more highly skilled?
tunetine··on Ask HN: What problem in your business is worth paying 10k/y for?
Everyone might hate it but they're definitely using it. Agile is too trendy.
tunetine··on Ask HN: What problem in your business is worth paying 10k/y for?
Making fancy graphs for data analysis. Sorry, I can't get into it much more than that.
tunetine··on Ask HN: What problem in your business is worth paying 10k/y for?
You would incur the same type of thing in Dynamics. It's a hit or miss trying to figure out if a feature is even possible and how to implement on your own. There really isn't an open-source collection like you would hope. Subscription or dev. consultant?
