Putting up a simple page like this takes half a day and you can get to know if people are interested in your world changing idea.
As an entrepreneur don't you want to know that? I do.
We are going ahead with "momment" as our brand name due to lack of a better domain available that gives the same feeling when you read it or hear it.
So it is not a spelling mistake "technically".
But believe me, if things go as per the plan we would like to buy it more than anybody. It is an eyesore to see that. :)
Also see related ways on how to tackle FOUT.
-There are a number of fonts designed specifically for screen reading.
-Some of them happen to be preinstalled on our computers.
-Not all default fonts installed on our computers are meant for screen reading. Not all web safe fonts are either.
-A huge number of web fonts off late have been designed with screen in view. e.g FF Meta, FF Tisa Web Pro and so many others.
-There is nothing wrong with using font-face for body text.
Examples: Every article on trentwalton.com uses font-face (uses Typekit for webfonts) and works great in terms of readability. Please do not mix the poor aliasing on Windows with a problem with web fonts.

128 bitrate? Amazon access key Expires ?? No idea what gda is. Also their signature.
This is security 101 right? Or is this normal for a service of this kind? Also are they officially using the Soundcloud API? if yes, is this one of the responses of the API?
Disclaimer: This is deduced logic and not scientific information.
I know it sounds far fetched, but we are talking about the gateway to the world of social graph that Facebook is highly unlikely to share especially if it was under the direct banner of Google.
A similar tool in Excel.
-Make it mandatory to enter PAN information. Treat it like any other bank where with PAN you know exactly what money came in and where it went out/was spent.
Why restrict the amount to $500, why force me transfer it to my bank account, why not allow me to shop online using money that is mine and also due to the PAN card regulation, has been informed to the RBI.
I can still ask for transactions in multiples of $500 to start off with. It seems RBI is simply making their own job easier by imposing regulations which leaves no more work for them to track this money.
Also as a side note, for a company like Facebook with apparently not outsiders (like suppliers etc) who have info on the plans of the company, how do these leaks happen? Employees?
Sites like Startupli.st and betali.st have too many useless (sorry to those working hard at them) sites which makes it difficult to go and check each one of them.
So yes what other sources exist to get a superficial overlook of new startups.
If you work at a large company you need to work for a longer time to have enough cash, relevant knowledge of wide business area (not just something highly focused), and it is a safer choice.
However if you are one of those who like to see change, cannot stand lazy co workers, and are excited about immediate impact of your actions then startups are the place to be. It is riskier, more fun, you get enormous experience in a wide domain which might not directly be related to your work. Whatever be the reason, please do not work in a startup because you think it will do well and you will be a millionaire because of it.
Also regarding: If you are not a cofounder, you will be expected do a lot of different types of work, affording you little time to spend on the particular subfield of interest. I for one know a lot of co-founders who work their asses off and party alongside their employees. This is in my opinion the best part about working for a startup that you will never find in a large organisation. There is no-one who is a "boss". You are a bunch of people who have a passion to make an impact and everyone is focused to make it happen.
I have worked with both extremes. People who even after being far off want to control and are able to control every aspect of your work till you get frustrated enough and people who even after sitting right next to you know how to "lose control".
Currently I am working with people from the "Valley" who also happen to know how to give great feedback while also giving complete artistic freedom. At the same time they also know when to cut my ideas short when they do not align with the product. Win win for all and at the end of the day a great experience for the person using the product (hate the word user).
As far as the opinion to the article, I believe much before looking for a technical acumen, companies especially startups should look for the right product sense in the designers. A designer who does not understand the how to program can create great design but a designer who fails to understand the core values and strategy of the product is a ticking time bomb.
I remember there was a game trailer about some doom pending game that took your facebook images and status updates and merged it into the game trailer creating a very personalized experience.
Mind you this was over 2 years ago and sadly I cannot seem to find it. Any help?

The thing is if she were talking about how people are extra rude with her when she commits a mistake or how she is given lesser opportunities than male counterparts I would totally agree with your point.
However, all she is saying is that the environment and attitude as a whole is not as supportive as it should be. That includes things like 50 females in 1000 programmer group at random, even if it is not within the control of you or I.
We might just need to be a bit more welcoming and receptive to these issues before we start saying that Hey, we have done enough and we no longer have that issue anymore.
Just saying it from a third person's perspective. I have not worked extensively with tech teams where this is a problem but maybe I was naive enough to just not realise that the one female programmer in the team of 25 programmers was not always supported to voice her thoughts about how things can be made better; in code and beyond it.
If she [the author] cares so much about the social aspects of being in IT industry then I don't know why she cannot accept the way it is.
Why should she have to accept it the way it is?
As human beings we all have the basic right and duty to improve things for the better. If the situation is not the way it should be and I believe the comments agree to that premise then WHY should she try NOT IMPROVE them?
If the same topic were addressed by a male programmer we would all be talking how chivalry and good people are in abundance who want things to change, would not we?
Thank you for the downvote that you shall soon exercise but someone had to say this loud even if it shows mildly irrational side of me.
If it were that, would not it have been wise to mention the word music somewhere in that. Just saying that what you state does not seem to fit in as the motive here.
I would not go to the extent of blatantly calling out an iPhone 4S to be announced but the following should add up to something:
1) Apple recommending journalists to personally come for the event 2) Already announcing what was widely believed by many to be the highlight of the show. Point to note is Apple had never before this announced the name. So to do it in a non grandeur way via a PR article is so not Apple.
Something is cooking. Can't really smell what it is though.
Also sorry for being a fanboy, glad to know Steve will be giving the Keynote.
However what is not cool is the way in which these directions have been taken and the path chosen over the past year or so.
So yes great move for Twitter, the ecosystem and millions of users but somewhere this is getting ugly for companies that were solving this purpose for over 4 years when Twitter did not feel it necessary to do so for "users".
I was reading this book " How We Decide" (must read by the way) and one of the examples was this distinction between two groups of students who scored well in an easy test.
One group was told, "Wow you must be smart" and the other "Wow, you must have worked really hard at this". The first group showed deteriorating performance with increasing level of difficulty of test and gradually accepting maybe they were not as smart as they were told.
While the other group kept trying even in higher test and score far better. Of course both the groups were divided equally in terms of intelligence and attitude.
Very important perspective for every walk of life.
If the answer is no, then you know what to do. If the answer is Yes, then the other person probably did cross the line or whatever. If the answer is Yes, but ________"Insert any statement of the contrary nature or how infallible you are here"____________, then you are a jerk.
It is not just about waiters, but any human being be it higher in whatever illusionary status system you believe in or lower than you.
Treat others how you would want to be treated.
