Great point. I meant in the sense that I don't need to go to a chan to read racist points anymore, but you are right about the contradiction.

>it absolutely has not even if the current zeitgeist doesn't fully align with your particular ideals.

It's an hyperbole to say that, sure. However, the change was faster than I expected. Nick Fuentes would be a fringe guy in 2010s. Now he is part of mainstream podcast circles

tuesdaynight··on We are going to kill "unalive"
Self censorship is so insidious. If you are not aware enough, it slowly creeps into your life without you realizing. That was the reason that I loved chans, because people were excruciatingly open there, without any filters. It was kind of funny to discuss with racists, because they were not trying to censor their points. But it got sad when the whole internet became a chan.
tuesdaynight··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
>When women are picking a man for marriage, probably the number one quality in a mate is existing or potential income/wealth.

Wasn't that always true, though? No parents were hoping for their daughter to marry a broke guy in the 80s. And most women wanted a rich guy to marry.

Besides, the percentage of American women married is steady since the 2010s [1]. If dating apps are having that much of an effect, we would see a decline, right?

EDIT: I researched about USA because I thought we are American. If that is not the case, search for the numbers of your country

>You are more attractive than you realise. I say that with no hate. You are probably above an average looks guy. You got a good haircut, cleaned-up your skin, got decent clothes, then took good photos. Millions of truly average men have tried this with little to no effect.

I really wish I could send you some pictures of me. If you saw them, I REALLY doubt that you would say that I'm above average in looks. And I'm not being modest here, I'm truly aware of my standing, looks-wise. I know that is a dumb metric, but my average score in Photofeeler was 5~6. That said, I recognize that my current sense of style is better than most men in my country.

What are you saying? It seems like you are mixing gender identity with sexuality, but I'm not sure if that is the case

Just curious, what are the main use cases for you?
tuesdaynight··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
I know that I'm not bringing the sources here, but I consider evidently clear that human males are more prone to violence and wars than human females. And I do believe that it is a biological difference, not a social construct. Same reason for females being more prone to nurture and caregiving.

I'm not saying that every male is more violent that every female or that every female wants or would be a good caregiver. I'm talking about averages here

>Not that dissimilar to choosing C over rust for familiarity.

It's LLM age. Just port it to Rust if that is so wrong for you. He is doing it for free, no need for arguing about the language he wants to use

His blog is good as well, but he doesn't post there as frequently: http://antirez.com
tuesdaynight··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
>The best summary I have seen: Average women are no longer interested in average men. More details: Since women became economic equals to men, they are no longer interested in their economic equals.

I'm honestly baffled at these affirmations. I have lived in small and big cities, and this were never true anywhere I looked. Most of my friends are dating and most of them are not rich or richer than their partners. I go out and see a lot of couples. Are all these men making much more money than their partners? I have used dating apps as an average man and it sucks. But I got better at taking care of my looks and got some matches regularly. Not a lot, but enough to meet some women. I would have a harder time if dating apps didn't exist.

I'm not trying to minimize these experiences, though. I just never saw that happening as much as they say.

>The people are all hyper liberal

I would never guessed someone would look at these kind of events and thought that they would be frequented by different people (like conservatives). When I went to Christian retreats, I knew that most people there would be hardcore conservatives

tuesdaynight··on The End of a Fair Price: Dynamic Pricing and the Normalization of Gouging
It's only fair that these companies have real time data about your private messages and smartphone use to know your hunger level and price accordingly. I don't want to pay the same price that people that didn't have lunch at the right time paid. This is still not that, but we should look forward to that idea in the future. People that find this a bad thing are just unknowledgeable about free market and pricing signals. I could call them communists, but I won't go there (yet).

tuesdaynight··on Lady Gaga, Lena Dunham and surrogacy: Why isn't it causing a scandal in the US?
>Why is the answer to anything related to women's bodies always to propose controlling what women do with their bodies? If men could rent out their reproductive organs, nobody would say anything about it and there would be very few laws.

Because it affects all of them, not only the surrogate. It's like pornography. The women that criticize it argue that it exploits and incentivizes the hypersexualization and objectification of women. While not agreeing with their requests, I don't think they are necessarily wrong.

tuesdaynight··on Intellectuals Are Fucking Idiots
>and like most self-improvement books you could probably condense the 200+ pages into 10.

And if you read one, you read at least 80% of all the content of the others. Some are good and you get 20% of novelty, but that's rare

tuesdaynight··on Intellectuals Are Fucking Idiots
The article is full of irony. In the end, he talks about "social media intellectuals" trying to capture people's attention instead of being correct, while doing the same in this post.

I dare to say that "intellectuals" are easy to be hated, so this post is not doing something new or groundbreaking as it believes it does. As you said, dictators are prone to kill them

tuesdaynight··on SNL Weekend Update: Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei on A.I.'S Threat to Humanity [video]
The show wouldn't be the same even if they had the same cast. People change as they get old, the humour changes as well. As people say: the only constant in life is change.
tuesdaynight··on SNL Weekend Update: Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei on A.I.'S Threat to Humanity [video]
I think they are joking. I would be surprised if someone thinks that 30 fucking years are too little time to something to change

tuesdaynight··on Meta takes down a critical video about meta AI Glasses after filming at Meta
There are some Meta employees reading this thread and thinking: "well, he did harass them!"

That said, I hope that real harassment starts to happen. Meta doesn't care about social boundaries when it benefits them, so it's fair game

They have a lot of compute, so I think it makes sense to spray and see what works. Anthropic is limited in that regard, and focused in coding/tech, but OpenAI don't need to do the same. They even got the lead without having to focus in coding only, which is remarkable.
