tubs··on 2D Global Illumination in Godot (2020)
The website isn't readable on mobile which is doubly sad because it's a very cool article.
tubs··on Amazon Abandons Home Delivery Robot Tests in Latest Cost Cuts
They didn't go in city centres, they went in suburbs.
tubs··on Volvo is using Rust for its in-vehicle software
Without raii this is kinda needed.

Though simple param checking should be allowed ideally.

But you can always just do a deviation, it's not super hard.

tubs··on D2: A new declarative language to turn text into diagrams
https://pikchr.org/home/doc/trunk/homepage.md

An alternative implementation with good docs.

tubs··on D2: A new declarative language to turn text into diagrams
https://pikchr.org/home/doc/trunk/homepage.md

Is a modern implementatiom that's pretty nice.

tubs··on Implementing parts of the Swift compiler in Swift
95% of the underlying metal driver is written in cpp.
tubs··on I used DALL·E 2 to generate a logo
But how many iterations would I go through with the professional to get to the idea that isn't actually in my head, and how much would that cost me?

The thing I think I like about this is I can meander through a few different concept on my own time.

tubs··on Show HN: Emery – Personal productivity workspace
It's the principle as much as anything else. The site works without trackers so why not just have a button? Why be so hostile to users?

There is no way to deny cookie consent.
tubs··on You have a sad feeling for a moment, then it passes
The game is notoriously fair, given the fact there are players who have runs of some hundred ascension or so.
tubs··on The NetHack Challenge: Dungeons, Dragons, and Tourists (2021)
Human brain.
tubs··on When I tell the Windows Terminal team something is simple, I am "misguided"
Pretty sure the "trivial" in the blog post is sarcastic, or at least slightly self depracating.
tubs··on Unreal vs. Unity Opinion
Isn't that just p/invoke?
tubs··on I hate Spring (2014)
Your javalin example returns a static string and doesn't read parameters so how is it a meaningful comparison?
tubs··on Show HN: Warp, a Rust-based terminal
Ctrl-x, ctrl-e
tubs··on Ask HN: When did 7 interviews become “normal”?
At amazon your interviewer is supposed to be >= the job level you're applying for.
tubs··on Kaitai Struct: A new way to develop parsers for binary structures
The cpp is also pretty bad as another comment points out. All sub structures end up being allocd pointers with no way to have them inlined as values.
tubs··on A free and open source PowerVR driver
I mean she does a bunch of super super cool stuff but this particular driver is written by Imagination...
tubs··on Is C++ Doomed?
OpenGL is a pure C api, absolutely not c++.
tubs··on There’s No Such Thing as Clean Code
struct over class then.
tubs··on There’s No Such Thing as Clean Code
In c++ you choose the default so I'm not sure it should be lumped in with the others.
tubs··on How the Finnish survive without small talk (2018)
This site does not provide a way to reject Google analytics cookies.
tubs··on The world needs a proper investigation into how Covid-19 started
The US went a step further and not only blocked exports from their own country but pressured other entities to do the same.
tubs··on Linux Ported to the M1
The M1 isn't a laptop (and it's not really a chipset either, but sure).

I don't think the differences between the two projects you are trying to highlight are particularly meaningful. The vast majority of the infrastructure and code required is for devices embedded on the soc, not external (like a touchpad).

Asahi looks very clean because it consists of nothing so far.

tubs··on Night.fm
Hah, that's amazing (in a terrible, terrible way).

tubs··on Windows 0day privilege escalation still not fixed
Awesome, thanks for the fix, and the super quick replies, have a great season. :-)
tubs··on Windows 0day privilege escalation still not fixed
Fun story I heard from an aerospace engineer - they were running some heavy simulations and producing graphs.

He found the printer that was emitting the graphs was actually more powerful than the (very expensive) machines running the simulations, to the point that converting the simulation to postscript (or some variant thereof) and running it directly on the printer was some orders of magnitude faster.

tubs··on Windows 0day privilege escalation still not fixed
Thank you! This is honestly the best winterveil gift I have received this year, very much appreciated!

When you say "temporary" remedy, is that implying there will be a real fix that obsoletes this, or this workaround will stop working at some point?

tubs··on Windows 0day privilege escalation still not fixed
Oh god I thought I was the only one who had noticed this... it drives me mad every single day.
