Amazon Abandons Home Delivery Robot Tests in Latest Cost Cuts

Here's another big waste of money that was DOA. A child could think of 10 reasons that autonomous robots can't run around the city like little self-driving wheelbarrows. Amazon should have asked a group of kindergarteners to write stories about "Why the robot didn't make it to Susan's house" and they would have every reason for the failure of this project lined up before they built the first one.

They didn't go in city centres, they went in suburbs.

There's another company dedicated to developing the tech, Nuro [0] (a friend works there enthusiastically), and I'm sure there are others. One wonders if Amazon is just abandoning their efforts and will buy one of those when it gets ripe.
