>so you clipped it.

So what? You did say "few hours", right? I am only pointing out the ambiguity in your claims.

>there were several participants who never had detectable spike protein, even when they first checked on day 1 after vaccination.

Look that is fine. But saying "hours or days" is as good as saying we don't have a clue how long the thing lasts in the body. Because, we know that the spike protien itself has toxic effects.

Also I see that you ignored the bit about CDC modifying the statement about this. Not convenient for your narrative?

> This one says five days > And this one says ten

Doesn't really inspire confidence in these results, right? I mean, first you cited a claim that said "few hours", and then the expirimental evidence shows at least 5 days, and another one says 10, and may be the next study that looks closer will find that it ll last at least 30 days...

But hey that is ok, because that is how "science" "progresses" duh, right?

EDIT: Oh, and it seems that CDC removed the claim that "The mRNA and the spike protein do not last long in the body" from its pages..

> The oldest treatment in modern medicine. We understand their side effect profiles very well at this point.

Every vaccines contains a multitude of different things apart from the active ingredient, and each of them can have a vastly different safety profile, and when you take a vaccine, you are putting everything together in your body.

So the core techinique of vaccines, being employed for so long, does not actually prove the safety of vaccines in general. In fact, it cannot be proven generally, because as I said earler, each vaccines can contain vastly different make up.

In other words, what you said is pretty idiotic.

> Regulation

People, people. Why do you all expect regulation to work in the presence of corruption?

All regulations break down with high enough stakes. We are in this mess right now, because we made the mistake of thinking that regulations will be good enough to stop it.

Someone born stupid can be used as a useful idiot and put in a position of authority or politics to act as a plant by someone who is not an idiot and is very malicious.

To be frank, I think, if not now, then eventually, all positions of authority will be manned by such plants..

Also life is much better today for a weak, stupid person. 100 years, or even 40 years back, your life would be hell due to people giving you a hard time.

Today you would be put on a pedestal and worshiped for your shortcomings...

> We'll have to get ourselves out of the climate mess the same way we got into it - with technology.

And get into another one by doing it. Flawless logic.

Human beings should start being humble and realisitic about their capability to predict the effects of thier actions on environment, and start messing with it less. Not more. If humanity as a whole, has the capability to JUST FUCKING STOP, I would have much hope for the future. But no. Humanity has as much ability to course correct as that of a flying hippopotamus.

tresqotheq··on 2022 Amish Population Profile
Humans beings can be divided into two classes. The exploiters and the exploited. Exploiters are constantly looking on ways to do more efficient exploitation. So every new technological "thing" that get discovered, will be considered by the exploiters to do more efficient exploitation.

So every thing, even if this thing have huge potential to do good, will eventually be discovered by the exploiters to do more efficient exploitation. I will go even further and will say that things that does not aid much with efficient exploitation won't attain wide spread usage in this day.

For example, we got a TV in each home, becuause that would help with more efficient exploitation. Each of us have a full color, slab like smart phones with a dozen listening devices with 24x7 internet connection because, yea you guessed, it, because it helps exploitors to squeeze that last drop of juice out of you...

Now I am not saying that there is a self declared bunch of exploitrers that decides which tech should go mainstream, but I think this is sort of emergent behavior, given the primal instincts in each and every one of us human beings..

> scientific and technological advancements.

sure, it does not matter that things that we pay for and consume ends up having a million things that makes us sick in multiple ways, and if you are in some developing nation, you would be hard pressed to find food to feed your babies that is not laced with some kind of harmful pesticides or fertilizer, but hey, we can always pay more in healthcare to extend our diseased misery. We are doing just fine, in the mean while, there are more and more existential threats as the day progress, but hey, say it with me, we are JUST.DOING.FINE.

So does the ads, google, government machinery etc. They take advantage of people's common "mental disorder" (I say "mental disorder" because it is still a weakness even if it is present in a lot of people, which I take as the assumption made in your comment as well) such as very limted attention span, lack of long term memory and vulnerability to distraction..
tresqotheq··on I Looked into 34 Top Real-World Blockchain Projects So You Don’t Have To

> I know I have lost a lot of trust in medical authorities.

If you do some introspection, you ll find that you originally had no reason to trust them in the first place.

You trusted them because you assigned attributes such as conscience, morality etc that can be reasonabily attributed to one human being. But these authorities are mobs, a group of humans, and you cannot never expect a mob to have a conscience.

tresqotheq··on Google: Whatever happened to ‘Don’t be evil’?

They had to make more money than they made last year. In other words, public companies that don't grow die. So public companies, opting for less profitable non-evil ways will be capitalized out by companies that does not have that reservation.

In other words, currently, the world IS an evil place and will grow more evil with each passing day...

>I wonder what the right balance between the two would look like.

There ain't one that ll work for everyone (but maybe climbing trees with earth beneath them..?). And this is not specific to this particular topic.

The whole of human existence is finding the spot of right balance for themselves between opposing pair of forces. But "Freedom + Fun + mental fortitude" <-> "Safety+ big brother watching over you + less freedom" is probably a one goes on throughout ones whole life..

But the forces that wants to exploit you will happily sell you a "right balance" that is hard to objectively argue against, which happen to be one of the curse of our "modern" times.

tresqotheq··on Ask HN: What has melted your brain recently?
>It is still, however, materially discriminatory

The problem with this is that this is applying a fix in the wrong place, making the effects of original injustice exist in a different form for a vastly longer period of time. In your example, the society can pay for the livehood, training and education of such ex-slaves, and help them fit back.

But blindly giving them positions that require experience and skill is going to sound nice, but ultimately your whole society is going broke. And people will once again start associating low quality and untrustworthiness with the very same people you wanted to uplift in the first place..

Prepare to be flabbergasted an order of magnitude more when you find out that vaccine Adjuvants like aluminum, in the form that is being used in vaccines, has never been evaluated for safe use in humans. Yes, the vaccines containing them are studied, but the thing in isolation, no.

People think that society at large values human life and well being. But at some point in your life, you are going to wake up to the realization that its highest priority is economic stability and growth, and individuals life and well being are not even on the map.
