It was an entertaining way to learn C as a kid, and programming new weird spells made one feel like an actual wizard.
I think there's still some space for MUDs in the world. You could build a programming/literacy class around just teaching kids how to navigate and interact within that world, how to be a god/mod/admin within the world using its tools, and how to modify it and compile it with their desired changes.
Uh, hmm. So weaker unions result in labor protections for everyone? I gotta say, doesn't seem like that's really how the U.S. is playing out. If weekends off and an 8-hour workday didn't exist they certainly wouldn't be argued for now.
I can't imagine a time that this would have been true in my life.
Dems are pro-regulation, but I don't see that as authoritarian. Republicans want capitalism to determine who has power, rather than democracy.
They both want to socialize corporate losses for billionaires, but Democrats are at least nominally comfortable making them pay taxes.
Removing a defining characteristic to force data to fit your model surely isn't good science
They're like a freshman finishing their paper the night before - hell no they didn't edit for clarity, much less added depth.
Maybe hotlinking? Or some wierd grooming attempt?
But the guy below who suspects it's censor circumvention makes sense- it seems to be something like a dirty CD set to a coloring program.
Children probably aren't the target, but victims still.
If you're lucky you publish 2 - 3 papers in your PhD career along a similar topic. Stick those in and coheretize them with an introduction and a conclusion.
Those whose fields are less productive or who are in groups which don't publish very much will have a harder time getting their final bit written...but it isn't exactly supposed to be easy.
Some realized that putting everyone on the road in danger is not worth popping some ticket skipping asshole
Obviously with car reg and helicopters this could be mitigated, but the police could have just waited the guy out.
The crime did not warrant physical violence or disruption to third parties that eclipsed the crime itself by several orders of magnitude
The police should be punished.
Nobody would agree to have their house destroyed to catch a guy who stole their own two shirts and a belt, and it makes no sense that they should bear that burdern on behalf of a business that have an accounting column for such events.
We understand it isn't an exact and perfect prediction for the state of things half a month from now, but it's better than nothing.
"your area is at risk of blackouts next week - 60%" is better than nothin'
The fact that they weren't very imaginative or fun or free is what the hyperconnected mobile web brought us.
