tr4656··on Twenty-five years ago it was cryptography, today it's model weights
That's true, but a lot of the time the best version is available on a blu ray you can buy.
tr4656··on OpenAI’s accidental attack against Hugging Face is science fiction that happened
It’s not helped that the headline is cutoff in a pretty unfortunate way
tr4656··on Large Enough
This might be when it's better to not use the API and just pay for the flat-rate subscription.
tr4656··on Moaan InkPalm Plus is weird, cheap, small, and my kind of e-reader
I am on a Hisense A7cc. I think it's actually a much better experience than using traditional Chrome/Firefox, especially with scrolling as you say.
tr4656··on Komorebi: Tiling Window Management for Windows
For Linux, why not use one of the many tiling window managers?

tr4656··on Google requiring all ‘G Suite legacy free edition’ users to start paying
Do you have a link to this? Does this mean that say Google Play, Youtube Music, and Youtube will keep working but just limited in what it can do?
tr4656··on The Nintendo Switch and Gadget Design
Guessing the author means that you can dock it and play on a TV/monitor in your house in addition to being portable for taking around.
tr4656··on Images of New MacBook Pro with Magic Toolbar Leaked in MacOS Sierra 10.12.1
What do you use the touchscreen for on ChromeOS? I basically never used the touch screen on my Chromebook until the beta with Android app support.
tr4656··on Firefox 49 fixes sites designed with WebKit in mind, and more
Blink is a fork of webkit so it supports webkit prefixes anyways.
tr4656··on My First Keyboard Build
Probably not, since it requires a bit more work than just a keyboard you can buy. I would say something like the CODE Keyboard, WASD Keyboard, or Ducky Shines are good and reliable keyboards.
tr4656··on My First Keyboard Build
In addition to the Ergodox, Massdrop has another keyboard that requires soldering available right now, which resembles the shape of the HHKB.

tr4656··on Installing Apple CarPlay and Taking It for a Spin
Probably, but since it is the one of the first to market, if not the first, it's not unusual for it to cost more than what is really reasonable for most people.
tr4656··on Komanda: IRC Client For Developers
Yes, it is an irc client but on the front page

>With a ZNC bounce

which implies that they want you to connect to a bouncer. In which case, those two I linked to are clients as well, just it having a bouncer built in.

tr4656··on Show HN: Macdown
Sometimes it's useful to have a preview so you can make sure formatting is all correct and you didn't make a mistake somewhere when writing it. I just think of it of a way to make sure everything is done correctly.
tr4656··on Komanda: IRC Client For Developers
irssi, textual, or IRCCloud (if you care about a mobile client as well) would be good. Textual over Limechat because it is a forked version of Limechat and is much improved in terms of functionality.
tr4656··on Komanda: IRC Client For Developers
The reason irccloud is popular is that it is simple to set up and there is a really great mobile client. No one really needs another web based client, even if it is free; there are plenty of alternatives for that such as ircanywhere[1] or Convos[2]. I'm really not sure who this is for.

tr4656··on Springpad is shutting down
I'd agree about the web client but what's atrocious about the Android app?
tr4656··on New DuckDuckGo design
Apple shows the "Meanings" panel for me.
tr4656··on Put.io
Might as well pay a bit more and get a seedbox. Most VPS won't all you to torrent in their TOS.
tr4656··on Show HN: Bit of News – Intelligent news summaries
Seems good although Quartz (http://qz.com/) daily newsletter seems more than enough for me.
tr4656··on Scoop – A command-line installer for Windows
Seems to have less programs but might be easier to work with.
tr4656··on Pixelmator 3.0
I still find sketch better for vectors though.
tr4656··on Ask HN: Why the Microsoft hate?
The iPad Air isn't really a unique form factor; its just thin and light.
tr4656··on Apple gives iPad mini the Retina treatment
I wouldn't want to have to use my fingerprint every time I unlock an iPad.
tr4656··on Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander)
How about a tiling manager like i3 or awesome?
tr4656··on New Gmail un-minimalistic homepage
This is really similar to what Google Apps have used for a few years now.
tr4656··on Shumway - Mozilla
Well, not all videos will work with the HTML5 player.
tr4656··on My time with the Steam Controller
That is only because a controller doesn't work well with MOBAs.
