DJI made the video, did they sponsor themselves? They don't even show the drone in the video so I don't know where you're seeing product placement.
How did it screw everyone over? Almost all my non tech friends adore most Google products.
I'm sorry, what? Why would a build not work deterministically?
> If you decide to put faith on your ability to run deterministic builds with a potentially non-deterministic system
If your build is non-deterministic, how can you have any faith in the binaries it produces? You would have much larger problems in that case.
> You use git to track changes, regardless of where they came from
You probably don't want to do that if it is 70% of your codebase and slows down all your developer's git.
> Then you need to have internationalization test steps for each localization running as part of your integration tests to verify if your build worked
I'm convinced you've never used a build system before. Your build should fail if required files are missing. Downloading translation files at build time from some artefact repository vs storing them in git is how a lot of companies do it.
> But the point remains that art cannot be judged out of context.
What?? Of course it can.
> When you go into a museum you trust the curator that what you are seeing has a meaning that goes beyond that
My partner a curator for a medium sized exhibit. Not everything is some pretentious, contextful piece of art. Some are just chosen because they'll look nice and attract the general public.
> it is almost as much about the person who arranged the event as it is about the artists themselves.
My wife rolled her eyes at this point when I read it out. Does the layout and collection matter? Sure. Does anyone care about who was the curator? Not 99 percent of people. Please stop pretending art museums are something mystical and let people here pretend about judging AI art in a fictional museum.
Thanks for the laughs, though
7-11 or Coles Express coffee do not have high quality coffee. Everyone I know who drinks it does so just because it's convenient.
Money.
What will you do with all that money?
Retire comfortably.
When is it enough?
When I can retire. Why not change jobs to earn 30% more for the same amount of work? You're essentially speeding up your retirement every time you increase your total compensation.
> A lot of the industries you mention don't try their hardest to get my attention
Huh? You don't think those industries run any advertising campaigns?
> there's no way I can communicate with Facebook users unless I am also on Facebook and accept the ToS and "privacy" policy.
This is the strangest complaint I've ever read. Are you suggesting anonymous people are able to message Facebook users without agreeing to any terms of service? I definitely can't see anything going wrong with that. Why not ask them to message you on one of the 1000 other messaging apps? No one's forcing you to sign up to Facebook, it just sounds like it's being successful at providing an easy way to message between friends.
Everyone who wants to be rich says this exact line even though you don't need a lot of money to help the poor. Do you currently volunteer for shelters, charities or soup kitchens? If not, why do you think that will change when you get more money?
Disconnect billions of devices? How would you even enforce this?
> I would be willing to bet any amount of money that just disconnecting all Windows computers from the internet, i.e., no direct connection, would result in a dramatic drop in security problems.
Not really sure I understand your point here. Why stop at just Windows? If we remove all computers from the internet we would be so much more secure.
I'm also not sure why you single out Windows when even the blog post demonstrates this key logger in Linux (which is open source).
> There was a time when not all computers had unfettered direct access to the internet. They worked just fine. Maybe even better than ones today that are incessantly trying to connect to some server.
I hope this is a troll rather than someone honestly believing such a statement. You're claiming disconnected computers are perhaps better... while writing on one connected to the internet.
It's almost as if there's more operating systems than MacOS...
