I'm gonna call that a "heavy" inspired treehouse site. Treehouse has a unique look, and this gave me the impression that it is part of that site. Same colors (or very similar), illustrated shape badges with 3 color palette, similar layout. They even have the hide slider.

It is inspired & allowed, but leaves a bad taste.

This is why they want a tiered internet. They would make a tier specifically for streaming sites, and a discount if you have cable with them.

Just two weeks ago I was talking to a guy in the military. His government job was to monitor military test taking. At times only 2 people would show up in one day to take a test. He gets paid $20+ an hour. I didn't ask how many hours a week he worked, but I got the impression it was his current main job.

In this patent, the claim is something like a page and half long, having over 7-8 features, each of which you would have to prove before a court that the alleged infringer has done in order to be awarded damages.

Indeed, in reviewing the claims, Amazon hasn’t just patented “taking photos with a ‘near perfect’ white backdrop,” but according to the claim for Amazon’s patent, I would argue that Amazon patented a very involved and strictly defined way (the’re even ratios in the patent so avoiding infringement would be as easy as having slightly different ratios) by which to take photos with a “near perfect” white backdrop.

Hope that helps. I know few patent attorney’s bother (and we’re a rare breed with only ~70K of us registered patent agents from the start of the patent system), and I’m probably wasting my time because it makes for less dramatic coverage, but I would like the anti-patent vibe on cites I otherwise enjoy to be less sensational and more informed.

I just tried the blur effect, but it is too much manual work. I spent 20 minutes, and finished a very small part of the gif. I just deleted it. It wasn't getting the 3D feel I wanted. I think having solid bright color instead of a blur, gives it more impact in the outcome.

I switched mostly from Rdio to Spotify. I used rdio since it started, but spotify's radio based off a playlist is great. I get more discovery songs this way. I also have non-english songs that aren't on rdio, but I can add them in Spotify. I do love rdio's new album page better.
