I wonder if it was down that much, if users would get credits the way we pay when we use the services - its kind of ridiculous for a critical service to be down that much and all we do is "ah okay, its just github". Like, as if that was normal to be down that much...
I am wondering if it would be a lot more stable if users would be credited every time it was down on a "usage basis"...
And talking about apples/oranges, let me add apples/bananas: Vienna to Budapest by train cost a lot when booking via öbb. And not a lot when booking via Regiojet.
The problem is the offers are all scattered around imho.
It's actually relaxing to just drive around with different cars into the sunset, turn the radio on and occasionally overrun some pedestrians.
I knew I can't be the only one finding it relaxing, yet the anxiety before starting the game if I can play it or not because of yet another update is really a downturn.
Like HN, I don't visit the site for the great design, I come for the golden content.
...
Sry, I had to...
I am doing plenty of courses across different platforms, from udemy to teachable selfhosting etc. They all lack the interactivity. I am currently hosting the code samples myself and basically redirect students there, where they can interact.
But scrimba is another league!
If you open this up similar to how udemy just hosts videos and does revenue share, count me in. With the webcontainers, the sky is the limit and beyond.
In my book that is as dystopian as it gets and has nothing to do with the current level of automation with robots that's happening, that's a whole new level. Production efficiency is one thing, but not far and the DOD or someone else on the other end of the world has some creative ideas how to use that to "make the world great again"...
If I imagine I run into a factory full of "thinking" (current LLM level top of line benchmark) humanoid looking robots who are collaborating on tasks dynamically as needed... In my book that is as dystopian as it gets and has nothing to do with the current level of automation that's happening, that's a whole new level.
Never has the future been brighter and darker at the same time.. lets see.
Isn't the problem always just ios for cross platform - is bare running on iOS? Can you shed some light on this?
Thanks for sharing
When I look at the pictures, I see most people are overweight (some are outright fat and obese). Is that just by accident on these particular pictures with a tiny sample size? Or is that a problem in Mexico?
I'm from Europe and when I think about Mexico, I do not have overweight people in my mind, instead a relatively healthy diet of local produce. Is that a misconception?
"Hey computer, enable self destruct, authorization Picard 4-7 Alpha Tango"
"Selfdestruct not available since the Cancun upgrade"
jokes aside, I think we're moving more and more into a place where we have thousands of specialized connectors to let the general AI models "do stuff" directly. We might finally move into a time where we can interact in multi-modal ways with a computer and "it understands and does things". But as always, with great powers comes great responsibility, not sure I'd give it access to my private keys to send transactions for example...
I am sad that the truffle debugger got sunset together with truffle - besides tenderly there's not much alternatives there.
I sincerely hope, from the bottom of my heart, you find the job and team you are looking for, because the world needs more people like you.
I am wondering what the metrics / KPIs are they are tracking to see if open sourcing something is a success or not. Can't be just "sales went up for retro games when we open sourced" - there must be something like community reception and retention, general acceptance or whatever...
But yes, I agree. Let's celebrate this and hope for more.
The most vile gaming company I know. The most beloved game I ever played.
Now, Open source ... from them? How? Why? Marketing gag or a step in the right direction?
But then, OpenRA has existed for a while - does that mean its getting even better?
Where is this going?
The water eye thing only happens to me if I cross my eyes and focus before the picture and not behind the picture. The latter takes some time to let the eyes relax, but its much more natural.
I mean, unless its a wild magic sci-fi movie, it makes sense that once a character is known in separation to its background, that the background doesn't change with a hands movement of the character. And the character cannot move beyond earthy physics?
Is that what this is?
However, on rare occasion, people send me pictures where I am awake at 3, but I have no memories.
Sorry folks, I see myself out, that was inappropriate, I hope nobody will remember.
For AI coding I'm using Aider as a docker container in the terminal in the IDE and I love it. I can write what I want how I feel the prompt to be necessary and then (and only then) it makes the changes or runs whatever I requested. The IDE runs uninterrupted and without any "smart suggestions". A tool for every job. Sometimes I do a lot in aider, sometimes I don't open it at all, but its all separated where what happens when.
But yeah, anyways, while not as strongly feeling as you (probably) towards auto suggesting mid way through my sentence, I at least feel they are more distraction than help to me.
I am somehow surprised and not surprised at the same time, the HK people I know are very diligent, dedicated, hard working individuals. It's always a pleasure to visit hong kong or work with someone from hong kong.
Curious, if anybody ever thought that it would be a good idea not to have that dataset about hk and presumably a lot of china in hong kong but outside. The influence from the central party is getting bigger in hk and if it really tracks that many overspendings (?) ("I deciphered the pseudo-disclosure on who received over HK$90bn of hand-outs under the so-called Employment Support Scheme, draining a substantial portion of HK's fiscal reserves") some might not be happy and want to remove or alter the data. Isn't that a concern?
