And my last ignorant question, if you relock are there any complications running a custom ROM such as CM? Specifically, on reboot. Thanks.
Quickest example I could recall: https://twitter.com/marcoarment/status/176437401156194305

The frequency of use is a variable between apps and users. Hopefully it's been taken into consider during UX / design.
This is what initiated our discussion. We simply didn't like the bottom menu bar that had 3 to 4 options and an elipses. The elipses takes you to another screen that lists the remaining options. It was a developing crutch for too many nav options. Our nav has 7 items this release and 8 to 9 next release. It is text only and the reason is because we limited each item to a 42px+ tap zones. We had issues with iconography as well as keeping it simple.
The opportunity for expansion is a positive feature of slide menus, no argument. In fact, that was the strongest argument for it initially and probably the single most reason if we convert to a slide at a later time. However, the counter argument is that if our navigation gets so wide as to scroll off screen then maybe we can reconsider the structure and revise. Opportunities abound.
I wish I could. It's in build phase slated for late Q4 release. Great counterpoints, btw.
So, we tested the two navigation forms with users in our usability lab. We had 15 users come in and work on multiple devices with various mobile prototypes. We saw a clear case that users preferred a drop down menu located at top right. Users were mostly negative about the location of the left corner slide menu trigger as well as the triple line iconography that typically represents the slide menu button.
I've recently considered Nozbe which aligns with my interest in virtually all platforms. It's a monthly fee so there's that to take into consideration. Also, I've heard their mobile app offerings need some help.
Has anyone else found other alternatives?
It doesn't always go as planned which is probably why you were confused. The show is filled with random tangents which could be just as engaging. Topics include his other podcasts, Sodastream, keyboard, GTD, daughter, Star Wars, etc.
Pro Tip: sit with the episode for at least 30 minutes if you really want to hear the topic of the week. The first 29 minutes are build up to excellence.
Edit: I love the fact that while I was typing two other posts described the exact same thing. Awesome.
It's always when they cycle through "I think you mean.." and "No, you're probably thinking..."
"Pebble's USB cable is custom cable because the watch will be waterproof and can't have a big hole for the regular USB socket. We will be selling extra cables as well."
I'd rather have micro USB than waterproof, IMO.

Careful when you listen... the entire network of podcasts is highly addictive (if you're into podcasts).

So, I'd like to say I'm surprised too but all too often he pans the platforms as well as acts like he's making enough revenue for the hassle.

I'm pretty sure he's not going to see this reply but I thought any HNer that thought "that would be helpful" should see this app. There is likely a better way using solely Tasker but this is my first run at solving.
New Profile: On Time event: repeat every 30 minutes from start time to end time.
Add action: Net dialog: Wifi to on.
The whitelist would reside in Wireless Settings. Any AP already connected remains as a preferred AP. So, Tasker flips WiFi on and Android spots the AP.
Then, create an Exit event the Tasker profile. If Wifi Status is disabled then turn Wifi off. Tasker recognizes two Wifi states, enabled (connected) and everything else.

What was Y! CEO Carol Bartz doing there? Another Obama party crasher?
Small world, it is.
I'd say this is amazing but I know the amount of work you and your team have done. It's well deserved.

Saturday is a possibility but Sunday is a joke.
It's obvious they're not giving any exposure to this blog post (http://www.groupon.com/blog/cities/groupon-super-bowl-ads/) or the microsite (http://savethemoney.groupon.com)
I can't say I'm offended at the content. I'm almost amazed at how poorly handled the follow-through of this campaign. They hired CP+B to create the ads. Why does it seem like no one thought this through?
If you actually follow through to http://savethemoney.groupon.com/ one can find that there are some serious active campaigns to aid these movements. If you donate $15 to Greenpeace you get $15 in Groupon credit. They're making it way to easy to hate them through this and miss some huge opportunities to help others.
Swype? I've heard many iPhone owners wish they could have such a utility on their phone.
WinAmp WiFi sync? Wasn't this similar to an app Apple rejected and later popped up on Cydia? I know I've heard a lot of interest when it was submitted to the AppStore.
Barcode scanner? I know, I know. Both can do this today, BUT the G1 was capable of barcode scanning as a result of autofocus and preceded the iPhone's ability.
Chrome to Phone. Probably classifies as a system enhancement. Same goes for the ability to wipe and restore all over the cloud. Since Gruber disqualified it as part of his article, it doesn't get mentioned but this is huge, IMO.
Grooveshark?
I'm not taking sides as I own both and appreciate the similarities and differences in both platforms.
