tiedemann··on AI agent bankrupted their operator while trying to scan DN42
AWS got some "donations" from "wasting resources" at least
tiedemann··on What are OKLCH colors?
Seems nice. But how to pronounce it?
tiedemann··on Zero-day flaws in authentication, identity, authorization in HashiCorp Vault
TLDR: string parsing is hard and most of us are vulnerable to assumptions and/or never get around to do those fuzzy tests properly when checking that input is handled correctly.
tiedemann··on Noclip.website: A digital museum of video game levels
Wow! I just spent xx minutes down memory lane - impressive loading speeds and ease of use. Awesome tool for studying level design from some of the greatest.
tiedemann··on PSKoans: A simple, fun, and interactive way to learn the PowerShell language
Microsoft wrote Java?
tiedemann··on New EU data blockage as German court would ban many cookie management providers
If that third country has something like the CLOUD Act, then yes.
tiedemann··on Deno 1.0
Seems like a good fit for bundling and/or containerization of js-apps.
tiedemann··on Observations on Observability
I can not say that I really understand anything but I like it; any chance of using the term factorial in meetings outside of gaming is a win.
tiedemann··on Microsoft takes .NET open source and cross-platform
Next step is to change all "\" to "/" and make drive letters optional to enable a better cross-platform experience :)
tiedemann··on Microsoft takes .NET open source and cross-platform
"Microsoft made their fortune by being ethically bankrupt and breaking the law". Much like most of todays rich countries including US, EU, Russia and China.
tiedemann··on Microsoft OCR Library for Windows Runtime
"This blog was written by Jelena Mojasevic, Program Manager at Microsoft" - I seems no one told her how to embed code snippets.
tiedemann··on Federal judge rules U.S. no-fly list violates Constitution
The US needs to rewrite some of that amendment stuff. It clearly sucks.
tiedemann··on Babel – Nimrod's package manager
I'm just happy other people than me like hg and Nimrod which is the sole reason of this comment.
tiedemann··on Why C++ Sails When the Vasa Sank [pdf]
Go can link to assembler and C routines so yes, I would think Go could be a good language for mid/top-level stuff.
tiedemann··on Compressor.io – Compress and optimize your images
Tried a logo; result is smaller but looks like crap.
tiedemann··on Babun – A new Windows shell
There are those of us who actually enjoy Windows and prefer using Vagrant with zsh when doing Linux devevlopment.

OS X just doesn't cut it when it comes to keyboard shortcuts and window management... Linux is nice but lacking in stuff not related to development.

tiedemann··on Spark – A small web framework for Java
I was thinking someone ported the Spark View Engine (for .NET MVC) https://github.com/SparkViewEngine/spark.
tiedemann··on Painless Windows Workstation Setup with Boxstarter
I've never had adware/toolbars or such installed by chocolatey, can't speak for others though. I use when I want a quick way of getting for example the JRE without crap installed.
tiedemann··on There is a pure HTML Gmail, and it still works
Enabled it for my father-in-law just the other day since he has both a slow laptop and likes to scroll the entire window with the arrow keys.
tiedemann··on ClearSkies – open-source file syncing without cloud
SparkleShare? https://github.com/hbons/SparkleShare
tiedemann··on List of minimalist frameworks
There's also the Nancy lightweight web framework for .NET https://github.com/NancyFx/Nancy http://nancyfx.org/
tiedemann··on Scoop – A command-line installer for Windows
If you have git on the command line in Windows a lot of the most common programs are already there (see https://github.com/msysgit/msysgit/tree/master/bin).
tiedemann··on Visual Studio 2013 released to web
C# solutions on the other hand builds way faster (in my experience).
tiedemann··on IKEA or Death-Metal
Even easier if you're both swedish and have at least some knowledge in metal bands (coming from a guy that shared rehearsal space with Meshuggah in the late 80's).
tiedemann··on Five years ago, Stack Overflow launched
My last two job offers came from people who had checked out my SO answers among other things.
tiedemann··on Show HN: OAuth.io released with 70+ providers
I, for one, welcome our new OAuth overlords.

If it works the way it's supposed to I'll be using it for sure.

tiedemann··on A Comparison of Angular, Backbone, CanJS and Ember
+1 for adjustable bias
tiedemann··on Setting up Sublime Text 2
That sounds great and diligent. Me and commits never seem to sync properly anyway (mostly because I am the sole dev on so many projects I guess).
tiedemann··on C# Extension Methods Demystified
My favourite is probably String.NotNullOrEmpty, I really hate to prepend ! to stuff.
tiedemann··on C# Extension Methods Demystified
I'm sceptic to devs who don't treasure their own string, IEnumerable etc extensions ;)
