agreeable argument. I am also running towards firefox, but keeping the firefox open, juggling between the tabs, especially the quirks YT poses on Firefox, these apps poses a usecase. Yes, download/subscribe/SB support etc. Currently using libretube mostly.
This is an excellent execution and refreshing to see the thought process behind it. Kudos. the ideas such as these, gonna keep us swim sane and specifically extending far beyond the 9-5 is no longer sideProject category but refreshingly needed one.
I am baffled at these practices and somewhere confused on what's the end game here? monopoly on information? altering data? exclusive subscription based knowledge? Feels like we have welcomed the AI era with open hands hoping( at-least assuming) that data democracy will be there, yet feels like its a long road!
Finding this usefull on migration. But I am puzzled when the migration has changed the file names and put the files on a new path, especially copying the files into a separate folder (non git) and the creating the version controlled folder which serves as the final codebase
True. I realise my reply reflected a little of " don't even try to socialize untill you've checked all these boxes and the best version" which is wrong.. I merely pointed out / defended the realism od the comment I replied to.
The definition is not and never should be the "hobbies". It's just something you find interesting which brings the parity to you and the other person. not necessarily a hobby and could be of anything.. Hobby is just a common way suggested to find people and then, only then, you get a change to know whether they are interesting.
disagree. I've felt the same after reading the same but I believe op tries just to point out that when you're the best version of yourselves, by removing the common denominator of bad versions, you'll be noticed more and that presents an interesting way for people to present a chance themselves to hear/see you. From there you get to go and may be, may be you find yourselves with a good friend. More importantly,Ithe confidence you'll get out of this is immense and you'll feel peace spending time for yourselves instead of feeling bad about having all the time and don't have anyone to spend with.. I cant say this advice helped me 100% but atleast it helped reduce the biased stress you put on yourselves.
> We’re learning from the initial rollout and continuing to improve the accuracy of age prediction over time

agreed, I guess we'll be seeing some pushbacks similar to Apple's CSAM but overall it's about getting a better demographics on their consumers for better advertising especially when you have a one-click actions combined with it. We'll be seeing handful of middleware plugins (like Honey) popping up, which I think the intended usecase for something like chat based apps
Kudos., Personalizing problems to familiar places hitting a nostalgic sweet spot for me.. Reminds me how much fun it used to be and creative math gets when you’re bouncing ideas around..
This thread has an utmost importance among other few HN threads and I couldn't grasp why this hasn't gained much traction yet. Our focus should be developing tools that supports the sharing/communication of the people/repositories of information spread across multiple places and accessible (the very meaning of internet, since www days). Totally worth noting the internet is "Too big to fail" yet the purpose should not be diverging on how to not only restore but to connect when/if it fails to.
+1 I am reading this is exactly pointing to the same concept as the todo management, but not addressing the todo paralysis. Everyone's mileage may vary. I accept that. Yet misreading something is far more dangerous than ignorance.
I don't think it's possible. The politicians needs something to talk, a psuedo-legged horse to ride on. The Mega Corporates need something to do, a psuedo-promise to show that they're not only abiding to the policy-makers and to do good by the users.
For me, this seems to be the best possible explanation on the effects of `Redditization`. Here you're actually losing the step-by-step conversation with the timestamp coded texts, replies are usually like just broadcasting their thought process (instead of an having an actual coherent reply format) or just spitting something so that the gratification of having something written there.
Thats correct with DE accounting. However I always assumed, the logic followed here is that the money has been "debited from" the INCOME account and "CREDITED to" Assets/Checkings.
Hi, been a read-only lurker on Tildes posts for sometime now & liked it. Would be much interested in an invite. If you still have invites left, please shoot me one on mailto<username> @ gmail dot com (bWFpbHRvdGh1cnV2QGdtYWlsLmNvbQ==)
Unsurprisingly accurate to most of the sites I visit. One extra thing is, the page load times and the slowness in loding the page or added content which will displace the buttons/header links I'd want to click resulting in a misplaced click :)
This seems a cool idea. Few things comes first to mind is to have a paid feeds for reuters / near real time news feeds, paid AMA interactions (Only fans model but for AMA) and paid forums (communities). But all of the above are already matured and has a different apps that satisfy the needs in a vast manner. So twitter could only be providing a intermediate between the user and a service.
// Albert Einstein said: "If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself." I like to think this is true about explaining things to my parents
Instead of delivering a message once a month/ week you could make the conversation/reply once a month. The key here is to skip the transactional nature of the conversations that are happening around us. Because of the availability of IMs we tend to write back to back questions/texts and waiting only seconds to get a reply. Instead, I liked the letter format where we realise what we have I'm hand and composed it in a thoughtful way. Right?
Politics does. That's the difference. Acting on above is solely depends on political bias instead of a concrete notice. No official research conducted and released stating the harm about the apps, right?
takes you back to web and them gets annoyed with open Reddit app feature. Yet baconreader is awesome, yet I find 8t difficult with Search like the native one.
It's like we never watch TV? This can serve a great purpose of youtube and learning altogether. We always can stay reading articles. But I just view this as a place where we can watch some great(?!) tech videos when needed.
