The suffering is self inflicted for this particular person. The organization doesn’t value code review.
If you are in a culture like this, you may as well just ship slop.
Management wants to break stuff, that is on them.
But do those frustrated customers matter?
I worked for a unicorn tech company where they determined that anyone with under 50,000 ARR was too unsophisticated to be worth offering support. Their emails were sent straight to the bin until they quit. The support queue was entirely for their psychological support/to buy a few months of extra revenue.
It didn't matter what their problems were. Supporting smaller people simply wasn't worth the effort statistically.

Are there enough people who need support that it matters?
Kill two birds with one stone.
Farmers have a lot of equity that corporates could be given in exchange for lower food prices.
Enjoy being crippled and use the time to be mediocre and just collect checks.
The value of skill changes over time. There was a point when being a dev required things like download size optimization and performance profiling.
How many devs today even conceptually know of those, yet alone do them?
Proclaiming that everything is great only works politically if for at least a large block of people, they agree.
But they do.
