At the end if the majority (mostly boomers) that do not want change continue to do this it is saddening for the young. But of course, when it bites them it may be too late.
Sad but democracy in function.

Chill. I thought Upper caste population is the smallest size.
No one need to buy negative opinions or so but trying to suppress truly occurring issues is childish. One needs to be mature to accept criticism. Whether twitter or elsewhere...
Again as a OCI, pointing out any issue is treated by this govt more as unpatriotic. (This strategy was successfully used by Bush/Trump to polarize the US). It is not good in the long term to do that.
Again many of the complaints are not out of spite. It is truly from heart many have optimism and feel let down. This is even inside the Indian consulate - I once was told that visit us only if you want to give a positive vibe (when I politely asked them as they printed place of birth with typo).
Note that US citizens complain about NSA spying, abortion rights etc.
Given poor law/order people can disappear in India. Take citizens that are languishing in prison. Again US police are not perfect but there are due procedures in the DOJ-USA. And getting a driving license or registering a house in US/EU will not need bribes.
Listening to complaints is the first step.
One can politely disagree. By banning things they create a chilling effect.
and please do not all the time compare to Congress govt. This is similar to blaming British. Yes, all that happened - just move on - NOW do good to current citizens.
No point in having dirty beaches complaining about Congress or British.
> 1. It opens websites really quickly, much faster than Chrome
This is the same thing everyone says whatever new browser they move to. Once some one hoards 100 tabs it becomes slow.
(Again,I am not against firefox or chrome - just meaning that everything is quick initially - somehow becomes slow in a few weeks)
My only gripe is that a friend had a similar issue with Stripe and the replies usually were just copy and paste. Like that other poster, they asked him to upload every other document but the replies were uninformative. It was all 'copy paste' legalese and not conveying information. Eventually it did get resolved.
1. facebook for family
2. WhatsApp for immediate connection
3. Email (mostly Gmail) for all documentation stuff
4. TikTok for just be yourself (add discord etc for the appropriate group)
5. Instagram - for show off - display the best of your life.
6. LinkedIn for I hate but have to like this manager's posts!
7. slack or teams (as dictated by the workplace)
(In some ways I love that common people have eventually segregated and some how trying to bring some sort of privacy/isolation (the way they think is acceptable without FOMO)
> Overall this review process was pretty bad. Very little communication and nothing I could really do directly to move things along or get any real information. It took a random Stripe employee to get an email from @dang and post on HN in order to get this issue resolved. I’m lucky because I know about HN and know that Stripe employees frequent the site, but I don’t think HN wants to become the Stripe support forum.
It may be that the errors from Stripe side are low. But communication is very vital. It did take some luck to get this resolved.
Recently a large scientific (EU) institution was wanting to coordinate efforts to have data stored inside EU - they wanted a running gitlab server (as many Prof. were just using their own local or using gitlab/github SaaS.
After contacting many EU companies no one could provide a 24x7 (reasonable uptime) services like github/gitlab with just a creditcard.
Too many EU companies suggested we self host. This institute does not have people/space to do it. They wanted Just Works.
Now what happens is that all these students get used to github/gitlab. And all future students become managers/employees - they will go to github/gitlab.
Most non ARM devices can be fully unlocked to run bare metal linux. Just https://mrchromebox.tech/
> I don't want to be too negative
You are. Though there are certain privacy issues that may be warranted, you seems to make remarks without base.
> Google adware/tracking-ware, locking people into the Google ecosystem
One will always get locked to some ecosystem. Some friends use Facebook as photo storage as REAL-WORLD-USERS do not want to run NAS, RAID, off-site backup. Others having $$$ have iCloud. People that know difference between SAS and SATA run rack-servers.
A simple browser based OS can help run 4GB devices. May be you are comfortable in 4K screen, with dwm tiling wm but others want $200 ChromeOS for just shopping, netflix etc. Oh yes, many people do not have time to download and watch ISO - and get locked into some ecosystem.
> Framework could be spending their time doing much better thin
Lets be honest, Framework knows what is IMPORTANT for themselves than you. This is a good thing. Every bit helps.
You perhaps never scrolled with ublock origin and firefox. Do it once and you will note the difference. (Unless you work in adtech).
If you install 100 + apps in iPhone it is also terrible.
I understand your point. It is like (me) linux user asking for a simple desktop - minimal GUI. Nothing flashy like winXP.
The world on the other hand (incl. many developers) want tons of features - bling etc. This is rampant in developing world (especially phones non-motorola phones).
BTW, you could have bought moto G, E editions in India. These are so close to stock pixel experience.
> er vividly since I have to code for 23 hours straight just to beat that deadline.
Lets be honest. That indicates app ecosystem matured. It is as big as OS. People that we ask to build apps charge tons of money.
> TV by plugging an Android USB.
For you it is a feature. For others it may be a security issue.
forked from https://github.com/google/adb-sync
Uses a syntax like rsync via adb.
Just disconnect the battery. Connect power adapter. Power ON. Follow https://mrchromebox.tech
Sure there some thinkpad stalewarts or desktop (using 500W power) that are running from decades. But these devices have puny chargers, less electricity - just works.
May be less local power is OK.
Just curious why and what kind of application or company's requirement is not to have offline?
This could be viewed also as a risk. But sure, easy is nice.
Geographically close to Europe but I bet Europeans/Americans do not feel that way. Again due to various factors.
VISA: For Asians there is one advantage - they have some established characteristics - like hardworking, reputation in IT etc. Again not to say others do not have it but when people talk about IT guy/girl they refer to Indians or Asians - NOT Tunisians.
Is it not stressful when switching jobs? - from paperwork, interviews, new colleagues, friendships, on-boarding, new place politics - especially for brain.
BTW, all nerds/geeks note that Google is not exclusively for you. Just walk to a cafe (not the one near FAANG campus). See those people with smartphone? They use Google. There are 100000x more such people compared to people that use substack.
> is impossible to contact a human
TBH, no one cares. I had friend that lost google account due to 2FA. But did they regret. No. It is only geeks/nerds that want to preserve their first email, photo for ever.
