Me too. I noticed something yesterday on the train - which made me sad. The carriage had over 100 people; yet 95% had their heads down and looking at their phone.

Most people didn't lookup throughout the whole 20 minute train ride.

For social media making everyone connected, it sure has made everyone else more isolated with each other.

Interesting read. I always find the peak hours concept cool. I generally wake up at 7am each morning. My peak hours are usually 10am, 3pm and 8pm. I love how peak hours are different for everybody.

Basically any better specced laptop that is hackintoshed.

Former macbook pro user here. I currently use a T480 with the 72wHr battery. Web Development and programming I pull about 20+ hours of battery life. Using i3wm under Fedora.

This is awesome. I love reverse engineering software. There is something so magical about it. I once spent a whole summer reverse engineering crackmes but never moved to actual software hmm.

Each to their own but over the last 6 months I've written a graphics engine in openGL + SDL. Once you truly understand modern openGL you realise how beautiful it is.

It doesn't surprise me that those languages are favourites for that age bracket (18,24). Python C/C++, JavaScript and Java seem to be what's taught (or assumed) in most CS degrees. You have to take into account that only small group of students in that age bracket would venture off and extend themselves. Most are content with knowing just the "standard" languages.

Franz stampfl was the genius behind the training of Bannister that led to the four minute mile. I have plenty of stories about stampfl. He became a quadriplegic in the 80's and still continued to coach for 10+ years after.
