You are encouraging people to read it first... but then you say it provides only visas and not green cards while the text says, "...Overhauling the country's legal immigration system, including attaching green cards to advanced degrees...". What gives? http://goo.gl/MZuod
You have used the Econ 101 concept to suit your view. From the point of view of software buyer when prices go up demand goes down. Which means less opportunity to grow which equates less employment. It works both ways.
Honestly I'm not suggesting anything. All I'm saying is that this contract is optional. People can buy full price and say fuck-you to the contract. In fact I have gotten iPhones cheaper from AT&T by buying locked and immediately buying out the contract than buying unlocked from Apple.
Okay... but I still don't understand your point. You are saying that the contract exists so that telcos can push additional services (over limits, roaming etc.). But there is also an unlocked option. Are you saying that people are not aware of unlocked full-price option? Even if they are not there is an option to buy out the contract any time. And it appears completely reasonable comparing it with original costs. Here is from AT&T: $325 minus $10 for each full month
of completed Service Commitment. I would like to know why you think AT&T is ripping people off.
If you turn off the phone and leave it in a drawer you will pay the minimum fees. The phone companies are aiming for the maximum. That is having you go over the limits, pay roaming etc. By letting you unlock the phone it opens the door for always receiving only the minimum. This is what they want to avoid.
"Except that unlocking the phone doesn't free anyone from fulfilling their side of the original contract"... it does, the contract now says that you can't unlock the phone. If you do you break the contract.
Here is an almost bizarre theory. When your salary crosses the average number your enjoyment of things that you can buy with money goes down drastically. You have much more appreciation of the used car that you bought out of college as the monthly payments pinched you a little. A good way for you to maintain that effect is to keep stepping up your lifestyle as your salary increases. Constantly buying a little more than you can afford. You can easily afford a Honda now? Buy BMW. Goes against conventional wisdom, but food for thought.
Not sure if this is related but I started using this goo.gl extension and it has been great to paste links in emails. I use it all day long especially for Google docs links.
Towards the end of the interview the interviewer told me, "your turn to ask me questions". I said, "I have this puzzle for you...". He turned pale for a moment and then laughed at the joke. I wasn't joking.
Since I'm not as pretty as Samantha I suspect my page would look this good to glance at. Also with the grid view my eyes won't know what direction to travel in. So I fear that my page would be neither pretty nor functional.
In cases like this I have always wondered if you could ask the judge/jury if they would also shut down Dell, Microsoft, Apple etc. as the wares from these companies are also used?
Similarly the air you breath is not free. But if we were to get that technical we will have to invent words for various levels of "free". In this case let's just agree that the title meant "no exchange of money".
Sorry that you are getting down voted and being called a troll for suggesting that patent and IP laws serve a purpose. I guess the down voters would be comfortable investing a billion dollar in R&D for a drug that Walgreens can copy in a week.
The suggested functionality is already present in the UI and also it is not as intrusive. It is the blue arrow when you start navigation. You are supposed to keep turning till the blue arrow aligns with the blue route. It is not very effective because the compass sucks. Your UI addition will face the same problem.
Education is not enough. It needs to be converted into "knowledge that can be applied". That is the part that college handles. I would much rather go to a surgeon that has gone to college/univ over someone who has read all about surgery on wikipedia during his travels to Thailand.
If you don't have an idea of what you want out of college it is best to figure it out fast. And even if you don't have an idea you are better off in college meeting a whole bunch of people and attempting to figure it out.
Besides the edge cases and exceptions what you are told from a very young age is accurate. You can look at the income data for people who have univ degrees vs. those who don't.
Oh come on... can we just have the gmail piece for free? If you want limit it to 5 addresses so that only really poor hackers use free account and they become your paying customers as soon as they find some traction.
