I'll offer you a bacon sarnie and a £20 credit at Funstation in Leeds.
thehodge··on Show HN: I made an app that tracks your devices' batteries from your Mac
The balls you have to say your app is too expensive... THEN ask for help as you try and become and indie developer on same platform!
thehodge··on Tell HN: Thanks to thehodge and littlewarden.com, this site is up today
Thanks for that, I've fixed that and pushing the change :)
thehodge··on Tell HN: Thanks to thehodge and littlewarden.com, this site is up today
Thanks for the heads up, I'll take a look at that and the good news is that we have a brand new marketing site launching very soon which IS much more mobile compatible!

The IPv6 thing, tbh nobody has tried it yet, but it's certainly something that if it doesn't work, we will fix it so it does :)

That was 100% my wife, she came up with the idea after our trip to TokyoDisneyland was cancelled and we were all a bit down. I'd love to take credit for that but I cannot!
thehodge··on Tell HN: Thanks to thehodge and littlewarden.com, this site is up today
None, tbh I don't try and pitch LW too hard, I just give them a heads up, probably a mistake but feels more ethical :)

We allow multiple emails to be notified for issues, as well as the pretty popular Slack integration (along with other messaging services)

Ha Peter, you are too kind, but I will take this opportunity to plug my latest fundraising video :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm2FUOEoy44

Exactly, this post was such a lovely gesture and the HN team know there is an account for them if they want one (gotta say thanks, afterall, we did launch with a SHOW HN post!)
thehodge··on Tell HN: Thanks to thehodge and littlewarden.com, this site is up today
Yep it happens a lot.. Thanks for linking these, I'll be writing a few of these down for a future blog post ;)
thehodge··on Tell HN: Thanks to thehodge and littlewarden.com, this site is up today
It happens A LOT, it's mostly because domains, SSLs and other 'tedious' things like that tend to get lost in the business of 'building something billable' and it's easy to thank that a different department owns that bit.
thehodge··on Tell HN: Thanks to thehodge and littlewarden.com, this site is up today
Thanks for the mention Dang, I monitor a few hundred sites of 'importance' and see stuff like this all the time, you are the first one however to thank me for an email saying 'you might want to look into this!'
thehodge··on addons.thunderbird.net SSL certificate has expired
If anyone from Mozilla is reading, I’d be happy to donation a littlewarden.com account for this very purpose. (Contact details in profile)

thehodge··on State of SaaS Product Onboarding
Interactive Walkthrough - That's why we were a little surprised that only 24% of SaaS products included one.

- We don't have one because they are a lot of work! Working on a SaaS is a constant juggle of priorities and I don't see an Interactive Walkthrough being that high on the list for us.

thehodge··on Introducing a new HTML element – welcome <clippy>
With some UIs on the modern web, I’d love for clippy to appear and tell me what to do
thehodge··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (April 2019)
SaaS | designer | front end | REMoTE

Little Warden is a small SaaS company looking to hire our first employee to give our UI/UX a refresh

We have a series of small web apps built to help solve a specific problem and whilst our backend work is top notch ( if I do say so myself) our front end work usually consists of taking a bootstrap theme and working around it.

We’d love to have someone on the team who can take a wireframes or concept and turn it into a design and HTML

Email hnpost@littlewarden.com :)

thehodge··on Ask HN: Did offering a money-back guarantee help your business?
We have a small low touch SaaS business with a 30 day money back guarantee, We've had maybe 3 people ask for there money back in the year of having it but it didn't affect conversions significantly
thehodge··on YC Startup School 2018: a free, 10-week, online course
Just applied, I think as a part time husband and wife team with a child (and based in the UK) this is a more realistic opportunity than the physical YC (even though I think that would be an awesome adventure)
thehodge··on Applications for YC W19 Are Open
Did we ever get an update on the online YC batch?
thehodge··on Announcing IPv6 Support for Cloud IPs
Looking forward to using this!
thehodge··on Show HN: Sitebulb, a website crawler and auditor for SEOs
I've been testing Sitebulb for a few months now and I'm really impressed, you've done solid work guys :) good luck with the launch
thehodge··on UK Bank replaces logout functionality with advert
Sorry for the self-post on this but Halifax now shows you an advert when you click Logout rather than logging you out.

A small message is displayed saying you'll be logged out in 30 seconds but to me, that is a MASSIVE issue.

When I click logout, I expect to be logged out

thehodge··on Show HN: Little Warden, monitoring the tedious things about websites
Hi Mabcat,

Sorry about that I've been driving home all day, I'm going to look into that straight away and email you.

thehodge··on Show HN: Little Warden, monitoring the tedious things about websites
Hi justboxing, thanks for your comments. I fully appreciate what you're saying but I'd be unable to scale LW with that many customers paying < £6 a month.

Whilst I'd LOVE a bunch of clients where 5000 dollars is a rounding error, that's not our target client.

Our target client is a small to medium business with multiple domains or a digital agency that is responsible for (but may not control) a domain / website.

thehodge··on Show HN: Little Warden, monitoring the tedious things about websites
Hi Kyle, could you shoot me an email at dom@littlewarden.com about this, we do detect 404 pages and pages giving 404 response codes but I'd like to know more about your needs
thehodge··on Show HN: Little Warden, monitoring the tedious things about websites
Thanks justboxing, I appreciate the feedback, at the moment I wouldn't be able to support hundreds of clients on a free or reduced priced plan for one domain
thehodge··on Show HN: Little Warden, monitoring the tedious things about websites
Hi Pudo, could you shoot me an email Dom@littlewarden.com as to what you would like and I'll look into it
thehodge··on Show HN: Little Warden, monitoring the tedious things about websites
Hi Marco, we have a £60 a year version for one site, I'm sorry but we don't have plans for a free package at the moment
