the_resistence··on Setting up a home VPN server with WireGuard
I wish I understood the technicalities better. This doesn't work in mainland China.
the_resistence··on Adam Neumann planned for his children and grandchildren to control WeWork
They "work" because the real owners "Dallas Police Retirement Fund" et. al. are too far away from the situation to understand the screwjob.
the_resistence··on Most first-time visitors to Japan are struck by how clean the country is
it's a beautiful country and people. Others have so much to learn from it about how to be civilized.
the_resistence··on Show HN: Best practices for building Serverless apps
You guys are awesome. Thanks for this extraordinary resource for the community of students getting up the curve.
the_resistence··on GitHub CEO discussed ‘evolving’ position on China in private all-hands meeting
As these things are naturally going, it is a matter of months before github is blocked and a clone set up. The threat to the matrix is too big otherwise.
the_resistence··on NBA Events in China Disrupted over Hong Kong Tweet
It couldn't be ignored because the kids of the elites there all have VPNs and access the real/free internet. Someone posted to social media there and it blew up. But no one asks how the tweet was seen in the first place and why access is only for the rich.
the_resistence··on China attacks Apple for allowing Hong Kong crowdsourced police activity app
they already are, trust me
the_resistence··on Blizzard Employees Staged a Walkout to Protest Banned Pro-Hong Kong Gamer
Pros at orwellian double-speak which allows them to get away with heinous acts.

And that's why I will never watch another game and seek to keep any spending out of those traitors' hands.
the_resistence··on What’s good career advice you wouldn’t want to have your name on?
A great lesson to learn as early as possible. Your boss may be good in a very niche space but a horrible, demented human being and functional alcoholic. Get away from him/her as quickly as possible. You will lose years of productive growth trying to "solve" them for the good of the business and relationship.
the_resistence··on Bill Clinton and American Financiers Armed China
Don't forget to add Rubin, Goldman Sachs, and the whole kabal. Someday the truth will really come out how they destroyed the US while enriching themselves beyond all belief.

My beloved zoom no longer works in mainland China like so many things.
the_resistence··on Australian universities are accused of trading free speech for cash
there's a hyper level of pragmatism. The ends always justifies the means. there is no ethics or morals in these circles, none whatsoever.
the_resistence··on A Chinese social credit song
It's horrible...
the_resistence··on A Chinese social credit song
This is so awesome. I hope it takes hold some millenia.
the_resistence··on The boring technology behind a one-person Internet company (2018)
Dude, I would love more insights on this. I have trouble finding assistants for the most rudimentary stuff and am constantly looking for IT solutions. Please, please, please. Maybe an HN post?
the_resistence··on The boring technology behind a one-person Internet company (2018)
At the 4 year in make building a professional services firm in Shanghai, old school work, but looking constantly for online B2C and B2B opportunities, I love IH for the community aspect. Although I find one has to be careful with balancing the amount of work allocated to seeing what others are doing and the hard but inevitably more important grinding out of one's own business aspirations. Great conversation!

Lovely, what a useful tool for international businesspeople. Sheesh.
the_resistence··on Mainlanders don't all view Hong Kong the same way
Without all the facts, mainlanders will never be in a clear position to make a proper decision. That's how the system is designed.
the_resistence··on Twitter is blocked in China, but its state news agency is buying promoted tweets
Will never watch another of his movies again.

Do not seek or expect Western style logic. They have no anchor to a reality that you and I know. They have a horrible jumble of countervailing thoughts which lead to chaos and inertia. Just the way the powers that be want it.
the_resistence··on Résumés Are Starting to Look Like Instagram, and Sometimes Even Tinder
As a professional resume editor, I recommend a tasteful second color used in appropriate places to make your resume stick out from the crowd. Otherwise, progress bars convey no information as they aren't comparable from candidate to candidate. Two columns and/or packed with fancy graphics steal from valuable space telling your story and can be more easily puked by applicant tracking system. Simpler is better.
the_resistence··on Practical Tips for Facelifting a Tech Resume
Great counter-points here. I completely agree as a professional resume editor who creates a few a week and has done so for years. Kudos!
the_resistence··on China’s options for retaliating against tariffs are limited by its own economy
I totally agree. Someone gets a bullet to the back of the head. I believe it will be the knuckledraggers.
