I was in jersey city and our building literally shaked. It was very scary to say the least.
thakobyan··on Show HN: Inngest – Developer platform for background jobs and workflows
Building reliable background jobs and engineering workflows has almost always been challenging in any company I worked for, and I’m glad there is a company now who tries to excel the DX aspect of this problem.
thakobyan··on PHP in 2022
I have worked with many programming languages and what attracts me to PHP the most is the simplicity of its tooling.
thakobyan··on Show HN: I built a cron job scheduler
Wow, thank you so much for the great feedback. I appreciate it.

Some of the things you mentioned is on my roadmap but some are new to me. I love the idea of cron visualization.

For pricing, I agree, my current setup is not ideal and I plan to iterate on it in the next couple of months.

thakobyan··on Show HN: I built a cron job scheduler
Thanks for the support! Yeah, this was a hard decision but hopping the right one for future sustainability.
thakobyan··on Show HN: I built a cron job scheduler
For now, the only difference is the ease of use and monitoring.

thakobyan··on Ask HN: One-person SaaS apps that are profitable?
I started https://cronhub.io a year ago and it's profitable now. I have written blog posts about my learnings and challenges so far. https://blog.cronhub.io/
thakobyan··on Ask HN: How to find profitable side project idea?
Thanks for making it :)
thakobyan··on Ask HN: How to find profitable side project idea?
I was in a similar situation as you except I have a full-time job. I started https://cronhub.io a year ago and it's currently a profitable side-business.

You don't need to focus on the idea too much. I think it's important but seeing other companies solving the same problem should not discourage you to come up with your own solution.

Take a look at these products for inspiration (https://www.indiehackers.com/products) and some of them solve a similar problem but they still co-exist.

thakobyan··on Ask HN: What apps/sites you use to keep track of the books you read?
I've been facing the same problem so I've decided to make it my next side-project and build the simplest way to keep track of books online. Here is the link: http://www.booknshelf.com/

Here are all the books I'm currently reading: https://booknshelf.com/@tigran/shelves/currently-reading
thakobyan··on Ask HN: What books are you reading?
Currently I'm listening to "Personal MBA" audiobook and loving it so far. I'm not the biggest fan of business books but decided to give this one a try to learn a bit more about marketing and sales.

Here are the books I've read and want to read: https://booknshelf.com/@tigran/shelves

thakobyan··on Ask HN: What business can I create around avid readers and book lovers?
By "... this kind of thing" do you mean creating businesses around books and readers or something else?
thakobyan··on Ask HN: Passive income ideas for solo developers?
Thank you! Very helpful. Never heard of oppslist but excited to check it out.
thakobyan··on Ask HN: Passive income ideas for solo developers?
I work full-time but want to start something on the side. I've built couple projects in the past but nothing that major that generates income.
thakobyan··on Ask HN: Passive income ideas for solo developers?
Thanks for the great answer. Maybe I should have mentioned "side income" not "passive income".
thakobyan··on Ask HN: What are the best noise cancelling headphones?
I've been using Bose QuietComfort 35 and they have been great! https://www.amazon.com/Bose-QuietComfort-Wireless-Headphones...
thakobyan··on Ask HN: Extracting book titles from comments
I've been using Amazon Product API for Booknshelf (www.booknshelf.com) by passing "category => book" in the search to query only on Amazon Books. The book search by title is quite relevant. I thought this might be useful!

thakobyan··on Ask HN: Where do you host your personal blog these days?
Thanks so much everyone!
thakobyan··on Ask HN: What is the best way to decide what books to read?
The way how I usually choose my next read is by recommendations. It maybe a friend or someone I really admire. I could go over their reading list, check out the book reviews, ask my friends and pick the book.

I'm also working on my own project called Booknshelf which helps people to discover great books on different topics. It's still in an early stage but I'm excited to push it forward. It was featured on "Show HN" yesterday but here is the link https://booknshelf.com/.

thakobyan··on Ask HN: What is your side project?
https://booknshelf.com

A website to help people discover great books and bookshelves on different topics. It's also a place to keep track of your books, creating shelves and staying organized with your readings!
