I don't really understand the appeal of jj as someone who uses sublime merge [0]. It has good support for submodules, a lot of the editing commits (messages, squash, move etc...) is really easy and I can also see and edit my stashes directly. Is there any benefit to jj compared to this?

No both C++ and C# need to be bought as separate IDEs:

Only Clion includes C++: https://www.jetbrains.com/products/compare/?product=idea&pro...

Only Rider includes C#: https://www.jetbrains.com/products/compare/?product=idea&pro...

Sadly not, as Clion is not available as a plugin like almost all other IDEs: https://www.jetbrains.com/products/compare/?product=idea&pro...

teh64··on Alexei Navalny's lawyers are arrested
How about:

1. He has a documented history of not paying his bills.

2. He does not listen to the advice of his lawyers.

Why would someone want to work for such a client?

The man who "wrote" the code disagrees with your take on Katie Bouman:

"While I wrote much of the code for one of these pipelines, Katie was a huge contributor to the software; it would have never worked without her contributions and the work of many others who wrote code, debugged, and figured out how to use the code on challenging EHT data."

Btw lines of code != amount of contribution, sad to see this kind of take on a supposedly programmer focused site.

teh64··on Fresh evidence of ChatGPT’s political bias: study
> Maybe (that was my point) truth is not as simple as science good right wing bad, and even people who dissent on basic facts can have valid criticisms of science and should not be put in a political "do not engage" box.

I never said or implied any of this.

> Morality is not simply a matter of acknowledging a shared universal material reality.

No, but without the shared reality is there even a point in debating morality?

teh64··on Fresh evidence of ChatGPT’s political bias: study
> No evidence.

What evidence should I provide? You concede that climate change is true.

> Yes. Both sources I posted are not anecdotal.

1. They are both the same source, the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia emails.

2. Def of anecdotal: "(of an account or evidence) possibly not true or accurate because it is based on personal accounts". I would say emails are anecdotal if there is no evidence backing up that the claims made in the emails are true. My point is that these messages do not prove that models were manufactured, as your own source admits: "no direct evidence has been presented that indicates [Dr. Mann] fabricated the raw data used for his research" and "no evidence of inappropriately manipulated data". Maybe anecdote was the wrong word to use for this.

3. The emails provide no evidence that "fraud and political censorship run[s] amok".

> Ad hominem.

I would define Ad hominem as attacking a persons character rather than their positions. I believe that narratives can influence a persons position, and I am not commenting on your character, but how your position has been influence by a narrative.

teh64··on Fresh evidence of ChatGPT’s political bias: study
What part of my comment is not evidence based and where have I resorted to ad hominems?
teh64··on Fresh evidence of ChatGPT’s political bias: study
You are just proving my point. The facts are true, but the vibes and the feelings are off, so of course it can't be true. Do you have any non anecdotal sources that they are "manufacturing models" or that "fraud and political censorship run[s] amok"? No of course not, you "feel" it does because that is a narrative you have been fed. One faculty at one small university is shady somehow implies a large number of climate faculties at a large number of universities are equally conspiratorial and manufacturing models?
teh64··on Fresh evidence of ChatGPT’s political bias: study
Valid viewpoints should at least be based on fact. How to act on these facts can be argued, but a lot of the right wing has given up on even agreeing on objective truths, like that Trump lost the election or that climate change is happening.
teh64··on We need scientific dissidents
It is "satire", because no one actually talks like this on the left wing. Its very obviously a right winger who thinks this is what the left sounds like.
teh64··on We need scientific dissidents
I feeling like this whole science has replaced religion is just right wing cope because science doesn't represent their feelings.

Also because people are becoming less religious, its an argument to prop up religions by saying: don't quit your current religion, all those "atheists" are just upholding different religious ideas, so they it is the same as switching to something like buddhism.

teh64··on GCC Adopts a Code of Conduct
But if 2 does not exist, abuse could still continue just by terrible people being in charge. I don't see how adopting or not adopting a CoC allows for people to abuse their power less or more.

teh64··on Reddit comments and submissions collected by Pushshift
If you took more than 5 minutes, you would realize there is. There is still askthedonald and conservative, all the subreddits dedicated to people like ben shapiro, conspiracy, the catholic subreddits and politicalcompassmemes. And it's not as if isn't there a lot of right wing and reactionary takes that get upvoted on default subs whenever trans people or minorities are involved. Maybe you don't see it because you believe conservatism consists of spamming slurs and making thinly veiled threats, but there is a very health conservative portion on reddit.
teh64··on Reddit comments and submissions collected by Pushshift
Well I would consider far left media to be anti capitalist. Could you name one or more outlets that don't lick corporate boot and have any kind of relevancy outside the internet? The only one I know is Jacobin, which has 3 million views per month on their website and sells 75000 newspapers, which is not a large publication (Those are medium sized youtuber numbers).
teh64··on Vacations in the Soviet Union

He only talked about reprobates and racists? What does that have to do with conservatives, unless you believe that these groups are equal? That is quite the self report.
teh64··on Twitter starts limiting how many tweets you can post per day
Nice fanfic, but no one ever said he wasn't able, just that he was not willing. I think this is pretty clear by the fact that he tried to wiggle out of it and had to be forced by the court. No one was ever doubting that he didn't have the money to buy twitter, just that he wasn't stupid enough to go through with something so dumb just because he got triggered.
