Well your CEO went on X saying you will cure cancer, and since it's always a 6 month rolling window with him I can only assume humanity will be cancer free before next summer, amazing!
The never ending creeping need for more power tends to have these results.
EU will either collapse or become a mega state that will later collapse, the problem is mostly that people view things in terms of elections, but downfall happens during much longer periods of time.
They should definitely use wind power, since you could use the fans to cool the computers at the same time!
I for one would love a nice HTTP status in the form of "due to the weather being nice and calm outside, AI services are down, go outside and enjoy the day"
Fair enough, I don't know if it matters short term for massive buildouts, but I'm sure whatever comes out of this is not a benefit for anyone except the owners.
Hey Claude, write in the worst possible claudism way you possibly can, and make it sound like every other text on the internet that is published nowadays.
"This post covers what pnpm 12 adds that pnpm 11 never shipped."
Was looking for this comment, the tech world has gotten completely insane with ”valuations”. I would love to hear why it was 13 and not 5. It would still be completely insane at 5 billion, but someone though they should add another 8…
Imagine thinking parents stand a snowballs chance in hell fighting against products explicitly made to exploit their children from companies spending billions on it. It’s like 0.00001% of parents that has those skills, if that.
The entire purpose of EU is trade (trading nations don't go to war etc), trade is more or less defined by large corporations, it's through that lens every decision is made and measured.
This is my experience too, but even worse. Opus 5 finished the task, I then asked it to code review it, 61 agents later it came back with a bunch of errors that needed fixing.
The first pass had tests, they passed, they were just wrong. I wish more people started reviewing their AI output, because I see a worrying trend of ”we have all these tests the agent wrote so it has to be good”, which is not surprising because understanding tests is not a trivial skill.
The concept of agents is from the 1970’s, I love how some people think the idea is new. Sure, they didn’t have the LLM component, but the rest is the same.
"Router itself stores model inputs, outputs, and metadata and uses this data to improve the service, but users may turn this off in settings."
Why is it that every AI-product think dark UX with default data harvesting of proprietary data is a great idea? I mean it's rhetorical, stealing for training is the norm, but it's still just as disappointing every time I see it.
We can? Last time I checked everyone and their mother is collecting all kinds of data for nefarious purposes. EU has a snowball's chance in hell keeping up, and when they eventually get around to issuing a fine it's so small and irrelevant compared to money made that it's business as usual.
This is very important, filling racks with GPU's instead of CPU's is vastly more power hungry (and hence will generate a lot more heat). Vera Rubin is 1800-2300W, mind boggling, these data centers even have new power architectures coming.
And I know what people will say, Vera Rubin is vastly more efficient, but that only matters if you have saturated your needs, it's meaningless if you need that capacity, and I'm sure it will run pretty much at a 100% 24/7.
This hurts particularly much when it comes to software changelogs/release notes, most recently for me was the solidjs 2 beta, reading the announcement post was painful, even the headers are LLM:isms.
Humans are really bad at everything we do compared to the specialized creatures in nature, it’s just that we can do many things that sets us apart.
A humanoid robot is incredibly dumb for that reason. At least add a set of arms and legs and 360 vision. And obviously dislocated joints than can move freely and hands should have two thumbs and more fingers.
It’s not hard to come up with a bunch of improvements for humans, it’s just that making robots in our image is a lot more trivial because you only have to solve for those same averages attributes that we have.
It doesn’t matter, once you found the bottleneck there is a new one. Seems we changed the supposed bottleneck of writing code (as if it ever were, the world was producing far too much code before LLMs were even a thing) with about ten or so new ones, was it a good trade?
It takes more than that. I had Claude do a feature, it took five minutes, then I had Claude do a code review of its changes, that took 65(!) separate agents and 40minutes.
I feel I’ve seen the multiplayer thing being pushed ten years ago or so, guess it’s time for another round. It’s one of those things that makes for cool product videos but I’ve never met anyone who actually uses it or has expressed any desire for the feature.

This new location is built to the same high standards as our existing infrastructure in Philadelphia and St Louis, with our own hardware and our own software — specified right down to the exact model of disks in each machine.
