tazeg95··on Bun 0.6
Hello, it seems very interesting. I am using esbuild to build my apps and it has a developper live server. How would you compare bun to esbuild ? what can one do that the other can't ? do you have a compare page ?

tazeg95··on I'm an 18 year old developer. How do I become one of the best programmers ever?
Show a little modesty and come down to earth. Enjoy programming and making a living by coding is more important than fame.
tazeg95··on Show HN: Cleanup – UI app to erase the hard disk (Lite Touch MDT installation)
Sorry if I missunderstood something but to erase a disk you just have to boot a live linux and type "shred /dev/sdX"
tazeg95··on [dead]
It can't be compared to Electron as it can't build a portable application. On Windows you need to install a third part library : WebView2 Runtime.
tazeg95··on Poll HN: What operating system do you primarily develop on?
Memory usage on my Arch Linux is 444Mb on 32Gb, with i3 as window manager. This is on of the reason. Other reason is the command line !!!
tazeg95··on Speedy Web Compiler – a fast TypeScript/JavaScript compiler
Esbuild can't yet convert to ES5. SWC can.
tazeg95··on Some notes on using esbuild
Yes, you don't need Parcel, Vite, Webpack, Rome or Rollup to code with Javascript. I never understood how to configure webpack and you don't know what thoses tools are doing. Just keep things simple. Write your own bundler with esbuild. Here is a script I wrote to build a Svelte Typescript Tailwind projetct : https://github.com/Tazeg/svelte-typescript-esbuild-tailwind-...

tazeg95··on I3: Improved Tiling Window Manager
My keyboard volume keys up and down are working. But I did nothing about this in i3. I think this is related to the system. About my status bar when I click on the volume, I open "alsamixer" in a terminal. I also have, wifi, network, dropbox as tray icons. Wifi and Lan icons come from the package networkmanager.

tazeg95··on I3: Improved Tiling Window Manager
I switched to i3 from gnome. Now I don't waste time to resize, move, close, reduce windows with the mouse. Just learn a few keyboard shortcuts to do this, that you can set as you want. Moreover I was frustated about applets in the status bar, so I did it myself and it's easy with some bash and pyton : https://en.jeffprod.com/blog/2020/create-your-own-i3-sway-st...

tazeg95··on Web Scraping with Electron
> You can access the html of the website and use regular expressions.

Yes but using regular expressions is the last and least recommended solution, please read : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3577641/how-do-you-parse...

tazeg95··on Web Scraping with Electron
Sure, but i meant to build a portable app, for end users who are not coders, with a GUI, and for a dedicated purpose, like for exemple navigating on facebook.

So i will edit this question to this : Is there a better way to code a portable application with a graphical user interface to scrape a given site ?

Thanks for your comment.
