Terrible news. Kathmandu is only 40 mi away from the epicenter. That city is extremely dense (1mm+ population) with poor infrastructure. Hope the damage isn't too bad.
Actually it does..it's just not sustainable under its current incarnation. The buzz factor is real and meerkat team have earned brand equity that can be used for countless other projects for years to come.
Nothing can stop a persistent threat. This version is supposed to slow down threats without being annoying to 'real' humans. Prefer v2 over v1 all day.

Tor is so useless for regular browsing. Nearly every site flags your IP as source of spam making the user experience poor at best. I can see how tor is useful in some instances but for 90% of web activities it's more trouble than its worth.
Horrible initial pricing strategy with equally terrible subsidies. It's like they positioned this product from penthouse to outhouse in less than 90 days.
The very nature of the S&P 500 would exclude it from such a comparison. VC funds are targeting startups not established entities. To make the S&P 500 list you have already achieved a significant balance sheet through years of tweaking /improving.
The return comparison is unequal.
A better barometer would be cash on cash returns but with vc funds that may be difficult to track.
"Wired" is essentially referring to genetics. ~ 8% of our genomic lineage is that of a virus. Negativity is just the manifestation of an innate human pathogenic desire to cause harm. It's just nature working its magic.
It's amazing how apple will basically sweep this under the rug thanks to its perceived brand trust that it's earned over the years.
Pretty impressive to see from a marketing perspective.
