Worth checking out in your usecase, as it seems.
For CardDAV: https://github.com/owncloud/contacts could be used as a frontend, since it advertises it's talking to CardDAV-backend, but it's not actually deployable as a standalone interface. It's better than infCloud both architecture-wise and UI-wise, and could be the best opensource solution available, if you're willing to adapt this frontend to stand-alone usage (or integrate into whatever you need it for)
Ecological concerns aside, this puts a bit of a perspective on the overhead costs of maintaining a currency.
Fiat currencies require a stability of power of course, which is impossible to quantify.
This is what Google Mail + Calendar are using, including features like RSVP, etc. It's all there, just passing iCal objects around.
Most apps (e.g Signal until today) rely on Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) service for push-notifications. Without GCM, many apps simply crash.
They are selling local data-plans abroad without switching the SIM card by implementing RSP. Calls are coming in 2017, also promising a portable phone number later that year.
- Hi-DPI still deserves some love, especially if you're using different DPI on different screens (e.g an external 4k display), although ubuntu gnome seems to handle it better than plain ubuntu and definitely better than xubuntu.
- Tablet mode is funny: orientation sensors don't work well, keyboard & touchpad are not autodisabled in tablet mode, but then again it's not my use-case, so I just disabled all those features.
- (ok this one is a flaw of this particular laptop): When the display lid is closed, the touchpad is not auto-disabled, which results in weird mouse movement and clicks, since the lid presses on it. I had to hook an X-event with a script to disable the touchpad input device when the lid is closed.
Other than that - everything works flawlessly.
One cannot seriously consider this for anything except a proof that basic utilities like zip, netcat, supervisord and php can be scripted with a higher-level language to hack together something that somehow works.
That being said, I like this cool hack.
This extractor relies on KeePass' code itself, so setting that option should(?) render this trick futile.
I will check the source code to confirm this workaround.

There are implementations for servers, e.g https://code.google.com/p/prosody-modules/wiki/mod_mam_muc, but I have yet to see a client reliably supporting this.
