superchink··on Book'em, Github.
That's because XML does not guarantee order of elements.
superchink··on Ask HN: Cash-flow muses
We're in Los Angeles. Getting started by filling vacancies in a few key markets in the general LA area. Website is still under development; I still have a day-job, So we're using Postlets right now.
superchink··on Ask HN: Cash-flow muses
Are you talking about Postlets? I'm actually just getting involved in a property (leasing) related business and it's going to be a great stopgap for us while I build the real site
superchink··on Wouldn’t it be Swell to be able to drag and drop between Web and desktop
This works in Safari too, so I'm assuming it's a WebKit feature.
superchink··on AOL's AIM iPhone App Is Getting Awesome, Disruptive To AT&T
Beejive 3.0 works great!
superchink··on Zimbra from Yahoo
Not exactly. Zimbra also keeps track of when people are busy and when rooms are available and things like that (in addition to supporting push email on iPhones).

As another commenter pointed out, it's more of an Exchange replacement than a Google Apps replacement.

superchink··on Complete List of Mac OS X Snow Leopard Enhancements
It is a welcome addition and blows my mind that it was never an option before. In the meantime, this link shows a hack to add it:

superchink··on Airbus pictured booting Linux 2.4
All the Virgin planes use Linux for the in-flight entertainment system. I think they use Airbus planes too but I'm not sure.
superchink··on Ask PG: What if I forget my password?
Or for any losers on OS X, I highly recommend 1Password: http://agilewebsolutions.com/products/1Password

It stores an encrypted DB accessible via a master password, and it works great with something like DropBox if you use multiple machines. It also works w/ multiple logins per site.

superchink··on Beej's Guide to Network Programming
Same thing at UCLA for the networking class I took there. It was a refreshing change of pace.
superchink··on Will it lens?
Great article. Thanks for that!
superchink··on Apple stores now selling iPhone 3G without a contract (US)
Is this true? Does anyone have a link for verification? I'm not doubting you; I do remember hearing this... just looking for the details.
superchink··on Safari 4 beta released
Thanks for the advice. This issue made me uninstall it almost immediately. Maybe I'll give it a shot now.
superchink··on Safari 4 beta released
Which feature are you referring to?
superchink··on Safari 4 beta released
This is the main thing keeping me using Firefox. Now that I'm used to this, every time I try going back to Safari I feel crippled.
superchink··on Engineering the Windows 7 Boot Animation
"Words such as “bioluminescence”, “organic”, “humble beauty”, and “atmosphere” came up frequently in our brainstorming sessions. We know that in isolation these might sound a bit corny, but this is all part of the overall goals of Windows 7."

You heard it here first - being corny is one of the goals for Windows 7.

superchink··on Do You Wanna Hook Up? - example of a facebook connect app
I won't be surprised if we see 10 different sites with the same basic concept. The details in each implementation will ultimately determine if anyone of them finds success.
superchink··on Ask HN: Classic games?
Wow. I never would have thought of that game ever again if I didn't read your comment. Thanks for bringing back those memories!
superchink··on Rejected from YC last night... got anchor client this morning
Was this downvoted for seeming spammy?
superchink··on Newzbin Prepares for Litigation
As a user of Newzbin, this makes me sad. It's the easiest/fastest way to download TV shows. I hope their legal team knows what they're doing.
superchink··on Yes, Uncov is Back
I know I'm going to hell and it's too negative and it hurts peoples' feelings, but I'll be honest: I like the writing. I'll keep reading if he keeps posting.
superchink··on Unigo: "why didn't I think of that" startup
Good idea for a startup.... buuut it might be better if their site worked.

I tried to register and:

Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. superchink··on Google launches white space offensive with new web site
I don't think it's the site design that's supposed to be interesting, but the idea that Google is getting signatures for a petition to the FCC regarding the usage of currently unused radio frequencies.
superchink··on Facebook to let employees sell some stock — at internal $4 billion valuation
Most likely, it involves private internal trading between employees. Those that would rather just take the cash and run can sell their stock to others who would like to invest more into the company.
superchink··on Last.fm Blog: Quality Control
That is a freakin' awesome setup! I love the bears and the monitoring displays in the operations room.
superchink··on R.I.P Usenet: 1980-2008
Does anyone that really uses Usenet these days really care if their ISP carries it? It looks to me like the major Usenet-only ISPs are doing just fine. The system is far from dead, for now.
superchink··on Firefox Changing Behavior of Ctrl+Tab in Latest Nightlies
I was never a fan of "alternative" tab behavior in Visual Studio, and I'm not sure I like it in Firefox either. The saving grace is that the other keyboard shortcuts for changing tabs keep the original behavior, but still. It always feels like the tabs are a moving target when it cycles based on last viewed.
superchink··on ProtoChart: Prototype + Canvas = Pretty Charts
Safari, Opera, and Firefox have supported the canvas tag for over 2 years. IE simply does not. It's a shame.
superchink··on Xkcd - Linux, a cautionary tale
Awesome. Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed it before your comment.
superchink··on Yahoo Music Does the Right Thing: Issues Refunds to Customers
This is a breath of fresh air from a normally restrictive music distribution industry.
