suhastech··on "Tap the spacebar with your phone." - Bump unveils new photo uploader
If you think about it, it's a paradox. For this to be vaguely useful, lot of people must use it. When a lot of people start using it, the system breaks.

NFC to the rescue?

suhastech··on "Tap the spacebar with your phone." - Bump unveils new photo uploader
Whoa! Just "bumped" into somebody else while testing this out. http://twitpic.com/98efxf

Gimmick?

suhastech··on Y Combinator here I come
I personally didn't see any typos. I have this auto correct mechanism in my brain that ignores all the typos (which does have a bad side because I do a lot of them).

I'm not sure what grammar nazis look for in an article. The point the author trying to convey or pointless study of grammar?

suhastech··on Use your iPhone/iPad as a controller for an HTML5 browser game.
I had worked on a similar weekend project where you control an actual toy car with the iPad. (I'll probably blog about it soon)

I solved the latency problem by using websockets. I know, it's not a widely used standard but was good enough for a weekend project.

suhastech··on Show HN: my weekend(s) project, instant websites
I'm no UI designer but asking the user to scramble for his G+ ID just for a demo is probably not the best thing to do.

On the homepage, you could have a conveyor belt like imagery where twitter, facebook and G+ icons come out as a "qiip". Below that you could have buttons like "See example" and "Signup" etc etc.

suhastech··on Show HN: my weekend(s) project, instant websites
Silly me, I took me a few minutes to understand the concept.

In a user perspective, "Try Now" or the "See Demo" is the first button I press before reading anything.

I think you need to tweak a little bit of that workflow. Otherwise, great app!

suhastech··on Show HN: my weekend(s) project, instant websites
In the google plus demo thing, by default, you could autofill the ID with someone famous like Robert Scoble .. For people like me who are not active on G+ (thats pretty much everyone)

suhastech··on Programming prodigy passes away at 16
I definitely agree.

I always get yelled at by my parents because I do a lot of computer programming instead of studying.

There's minimal encouragement in this society and I've seen parents pushing kids to get into CS because it pays. Environment has lot to do in making a "genius". And maybe that's why we have crappy programmers here, in India, and the deviants are pulled into the stereotype.

Assuming Pakistan is similar to India, this girl programming at such a young age is definitely a great deal. I don't think people in the first world nations understand this.

suhastech··on Raspberry Pi: We’ve started manufacture
Well, outsourcing to China is probably "charity".

Think about it. If people are working there accept such low wages, they probably don't have other options. The alternative is, lower wages?

suhastech··on Microsoft launches an HTML5 version of Cut the Rope
To be honest, this game is made for multi touch screens. Simultaneously cutting the rope and pressing the airbag doesn't work very well on Chrome (or IE).

suhastech··on Show HN: "Programming is for Anyone"
I've always wanted to learn Ruby. I think this book is perfect for me. I had to just scroll over the pages to "get it" (I have a really bad attention span).

Though I've been programming in PHP for a while sheepish smile. So, that might've helped. Total beginners, I'm not sure.

The probable reason for this is because, you get to the "good parts" quickly (twitter code). It's good for me because I don't want to be drilled down with the basics all over again.

An idea for a code example. As you mostly concentrate on web scraping, you can teach people how they can make a PDF version of your book so that they can read it on their ebook readers. I normally learn new languages when I have a real good need for it. This example can motivate them to actually "start" coding.

And thanks a lot for your effort! Appreciate it.

suhastech··on Indian Startups travails with Ruthless Indian payment gateway providers
Yup.

The main problem is, you have to deal with senseless RBI rules, stupid (corrupt?) officials and a LOT of paper work.

If someone comes up with a "Stripe" like service in India, trust me, he's going to be a millionaire.

There's one startup that's working it zaakpay.com

suhastech··on Offer HN: I'll work on interesting projects for free
Cut him some slack. He is trying to get out of the catch 22 phase which most frankly most of us, autodidacts experience. No previous projects = No future projects.

Though my advise is, work on some cool open source projects instead. You don't have to be committed to all though the project. You can try getting into GSOC http://code.google.com/soc/

suhastech··on Hands On: India’s $35 Aakash Android tablet lands in America
I seriously think the Indian government is wasting money on this.

Funding projects like Rasberry Pi would have been much better. They don't even understand what a tablet is. It's a crippled device where all you can do is watch videos and browse the Internet on your couch. You can almost do nothing productive with the device.

Tablet is a rich man's device. Giving that to poor people is nonsensical.

suhastech··on Amit Gupta needs you

suhastech··on Tell HN: I just open-sourced the e-mail client I spent 2 years of my life on
I think I was using your inbox2.com web version. I was a fan of that. I know, this might be too much to ask, but can you open source that too?

The thing is, I've have never quite learnt to parse raw mime email. I don't quite get the million RFC rules imposed.

And great work!
