So can anyone explain why this will possibly take 20 years to prove/disprove? We don't have the current level of accuracy necessary to test it, but might if we work through issues over the next 20 years or so?
Bogus usually implies something meant as a fake or counterfeit, I think a better way to describe it would be "incorrect", I don't think these scientists are trying to fake anything.
It's simple, different people have different opinions in life and his show is still the most popular podcast on spotify. was it worth $200 million, I have my doubts on that one.
I could say similar for my mustang gt, it keeps ticking after 12 years and 250k miles, with nothing but maintenance. I do still enjoy driving it though. I am not a harsh driver though, tend to be a "speed-limit, stop for yellow" driver.
Meh, I've worked on several embedded systems, majority of developers did not use globals and bad coding practices. They weren't massive class hierarchies like I'm sure a lot of HN people would desire. Mostly (if c++) single inheritance, basic usage of RAII, basic usage of smart pointers (if allowed to use STL, some roll your own). The C projects I worked on were a little more ramshackle but almost no one used global variables or data. Lots of good use of translation uses to separate areas of interest. Most people avoided pointers until needed. It's not as bad as HN likes to portray.
I mean I would figure it would be extremely different, much more so than say visiting the USA or Europe since our heritage all comes from the same parts of the world (minus indigenous which USA and Brazil also share to an extent)
Use less soap. I use about half as much and the dishes come out fine. I've had better luck with liquid based soaps too as they mix immediately with the water.
I'm looking to sell and move permanently overseas if Trump wins next fall, I'm planning on setting up a contract position in Europe well before that and watch and vote from abroad.
99% of it is people not adjusting the pitch of their headlights or turning on their brights and leaving them on. I had a truck and it was fine, because I cared enough to watch a 5 minute video on how to adjust the angle after a new install of bulbs
I would pay for some moon glasses just for this, don't need to be as dark as sun glasses but something you can grab in an emergency with the super brights where the owner didn't know (or didn't care) to adjust the angle of the headlights to something sane. I'ver had to literally grab my rearview at times and angle it completely and the shit was still reflecting partially on the window and chrome components in my car annoyingly
Show me a general solar or wind solution that works just about anywhere that is guaranteed to have at least 1 week of back up power when the power takes a nose dive during extreme weather or even just when the wind/solar dips, even 1 day would be a great improvement over what we have now. I would be onboard with solar/wind all day if this was true.
It's absurd to think that a country as adversarial to the USA as China would not take advantage of such a vast chance to poison the mind of America's youth. It's as obvious as night vs day. In this case that is Occam's razor.
Obviously they want social chaos in the USA, pitting right against left is one way of doing that, so maybe just have a self adjusting algo that detects which way they lean and then slowly increase the ratio of right to neutral/left ideas(videos). Slowly push the person in that direction a bit at a time over months. I've been thinking about signup up for a mysudo account and playing with the algos to see how long it takes to become a full on Marxist and also a MAGA extremist.
People can be addicted to games as well, and spend thousands of [insert monetary units], tons of such cases on Eve and simple mobile "pay-to-play" freemium games. Probably not on the scale of addictive gambling it's definitely no insignificant.
I never understood the "gotta clean cache every time" with CI/CD. I'm sure it makes sense sometimes but you can make a compromise. I worked at two places where I only clean up our c++ caches on the build systems on the weekend. We did that "just in case" caching was hiding a problem, but would only have a "small 1 week" set back at most. We were not on heavy release cycles though so we could afford that. We never had a single problem traced back to the cache or build hiding something. This was for internal company software. Not sure why people are willing to pay the cost for a full rebuild every time if that full rebuild takes a long time (rust or c++). I'm sure there are cases for it though, just that it doesn't have to be done everywhere.
I think I'd have to see a survey of health professionals (including mental health) in the context of selecting a permanent DST or ST before I'd say "the scientific position is..."
I just don't believe this, I've been dealing with it for 42 years now and other than being a little sleepy the first couple of days, never had an issue. That said it's illogical and should be done away with, I would prefer permanent DST but could deal with ST as long as they quit doing this POS ritual.
