stereoradonc··on Show HN: Open-source obsidian.md sync server
Give him sync for free! Or atleast let me sponsor the kid.
stereoradonc··on Arc Browser 1.0
The context of the statement was different, and you took it to a whole different level. A browser wrapper is a wrapper by any other name. Linux is different.
stereoradonc··on Proton Pass: Open-Source and Encrypted Password Manager App
I completely agree. Shifted to Mullvad for this reason, precisely. Definitely not touching anything from Proton. It's Kryptonite.
stereoradonc··on Proton Pass: Open-Source and Encrypted Password Manager App
Good for you!
stereoradonc··on Telegram raises $210M through bond sales
Any proof?
stereoradonc··on Ask HN: Who Invented Email?
There's a reason I didn't rely on the WikiPedia! It can be edited.
stereoradonc··on Fastmail Is Down
15 years here. This is the third time in my time period that it has been down. I have zero incentive to move to anything else.
stereoradonc··on I’m an ER doctor. Here’s how I’m already using ChatGPT to help treat patients
One of the worst write ups trying to drum up "support" for a product known to hallucinate. I couldn't imagine this could land up here!
stereoradonc··on Element is one of fourteen messaging apps blocked by Central Indian Government
Where's the alternative, dude? You'd want a annointed clown in their place?
stereoradonc··on 1Password to Add Telemetry
This is the killer feature I was missing! Pay money for usage and the way the app interacts with users, and they have crossed their hearts that they won't "spy" on us (which can change any other time in their terms and conditions). Who wants to bet they will find a way to stuff "privacy focused apps" in the vault? Why not?
stereoradonc··on Show HN: Telegram bot for importing animated Sticker.ly sticker packs
Thank you!! Excellent effort!
stereoradonc··on Proton announces Proton Pass, a password manager
The "Swiss version of neutrality" is an overblown concept and carefully constructed narrative.
stereoradonc··on WeVPN Is Shutting Down
Proton is overrated on most aspects; Fastmail is a better alternative to Proton Mail. Dropbox better than Proton Drive. (I understand you are paranoid about it, but just mentioning it is still better technically).
stereoradonc··on WeVPN Is Shutting Down
I implemented the SOCKS5 proxy, and I hardly get any. Shifted from ProtonVPN to Mullvad; rock solid connection; great app. Totally worth the investment. ProtonVPN's app is clunky, and I am not happy with it. Besides, zero Linux support despite the premium charge. I am not affiliated with Mullvad, but this represents an excellent value for money. I still have to try Windscribe. I have heard good things about them.
stereoradonc··on Firefox rolls out Total Cookie Protection by default to more users
Firefox does everything about privacy that Vivaldi should do (and more).
stereoradonc··on Show HN: A Google Reader-inspired RSS reader
And yet another ++1 for Inoreader. I don't find the need to consider the "alternatives"
stereoradonc··on Italian privacy regulator bans ChatGPT
The UK now replaces Nigeria. Bravo! It's come a long way.
stereoradonc··on Whisper and GPT3.5 and Telegram Bot = J.a.r.v.i.s
Brilliant idea.

I have some ideas for a collaboration. Can you share your Twitter ID or any other social media profile? Better will be a Telegram ID. Cheers! This simple idea can be repurposed in other domains.

stereoradonc··on Signal says it'll shut down in UK if Online Safety Bill approved
I'll shed a tear
stereoradonc··on Firefox lost ~16M users since last year
Kiwi Browser on Android supports extensions. Have a look at it.
stereoradonc··on Squish – AI-Generated Summaries
This is an excellent implementation! Thanks for this chrome extension! Works across most websites. Why not have a feedback button and check on websites where it doesn't work?

Awaiting more updates; I'd be interested in a premium feature set too. Please have a website to provide direct access through email, if possible.

stereoradonc··on Interface Ideas for Chat Apps
There's no specific "timeline". In channels, once you reach the end of posts, swipe and pull up, and you are taken to the next channel. Channels work as broadcast lists (with unlimited subscribers). This is not determined by algorithms. You manually have to subscribe to a channel.
stereoradonc··on Brave launches private search ads
I immediately liked the way you described the snake-oil. Bravo!
stereoradonc··on After Delhi High Court ruling, Telegram discloses personal details of users
I am not defending Telegram, but as a social media application (and a private chat option), Telegram is only complying with existing laws. Copyright materials are a taboo on ANY electronic medium (including the open web). We just had a major issue around the Z-Library. Each time anything of this sort happens, I see the Signal users coming out from no-where. These news aren't a big deal, and numerous public channels have faced the axe. Most of them have changed tactics by going "private" by rapidly changing their invite links or using bot services to "verify users" before they join. Public groups earlier sharing copyright materials are "banned". There are numerous bots that connect to torrents and upload content to Telegram. Z Library still serves content; Nexus bots have just rolled out a feature to connect your bot (through API token). Signal serves a specific niche of users, and I think polarising arguments (or moralistic stands) are only to play to the gallery.
stereoradonc··on AirDrop is now limited to 10 minutes
When will the world Apple's duplicity? They are NOT private, secure or consumer friendly.
stereoradonc··on Show HN: WebStickies – Sticky notes for the internet
A terrible product (none for Firefox) and has a user hostile attitude to export your data. Avoidable.
stereoradonc··on Interview with Keith Blount, Creator of Scrivener
Where do you have time to read with this level of complexity!
stereoradonc··on WhatsApp data leak: 500M user records for sale
I am not surprised (or "shocked"). Despite the privacy snafus, it still remains ingrained in the user's habits. Unless the company crashes and burns, I don't see the end of the road for WhatsApp.
stereoradonc··on WhatsApp data leak: 500M user records for sale
Yet they hold the encryption keys to decrypt your chats on the fly. What inspires so much trust in Meta? Especially in a company with "targeted advertisements" as its business?
