stendinator··on DeleteFB: Selenium script to delete all of your Facebook wall posts
I did have this happen to me when I tried to delete many of my posts at once.
stendinator··on Ecuador has begun giving the US some of Julian Assange’s possessions
There's a difference in publishing classified content (which is what journalists do) and actually stealing that content (which is what whistleblowers usually do). AFAIK Assange did not steal anything but only published what he got.
stendinator··on “Confidential” HDMI Specifications Docs Hit with DMCA Takedown
Kind of reminds me of the time someone got sued because they made building codes public.

I find any sort of restriction of access to _standards_ problematic.

stendinator··on FBI Warns of Russian Interference in 2020 Race and Boosts Counterintelligence
They have been meddling in other countries' elections for decades and only now realize the others might do it as well?

The pikachu meme seems more than appropriate here.

stendinator··on Court Says Using Chalk on Tires for Parking Enforcement Violates Constitution
I have seen officers making notes of how the tires are aligned so they know whether the car has been moved when they come by a second time. (Seen in DACH countries)
stendinator··on Tech Needs More Conscientious Objectors
How would one know if the Chinese government was supported by the population or not, given that anyone expressing a contrary opinion is likely to be a thorn in the eye that is China's surveillance state?

stendinator··on Ask HN: What is your money-making side project outside programming?
I sell Bonsais.
stendinator··on Julian Assange arrested in London
Isn't that a very utilitaristic view of an extremely political and morally charged topic?
stendinator··on Julian Assange arrested in London
Isn't the point of bail precisely that you don't get the money back if you don't show up?
stendinator··on Is a 'Stack' the Best Way to Understand Everything? (2017)
Do you have a source for that? Would be funny and interesting to read into that.
stendinator··on Concurrency with Python: Threads and Locks
Global lock much?
stendinator··on Understanding STIR/SHAKEN – New Anti-Robocalling Protocol
I'm from Switzerland and I only ever get spam calls from the US or India - how come?
stendinator··on Linux Problems on the Desktop (2018)
Nice strawman. I never said it's pointless complaining.
stendinator··on The Mate X is Huawei’s 5G foldable
IIRC Apple jumped on the bendable-phone trend a few years ago, before everyone else.
stendinator··on Linux Problems on the Desktop (2018)
All this time spend creating this list could've been spent fixing at least one single little thing.
stendinator··on Linux Problems on the Desktop (2018)
_For instance Microsoft and Apple regularly update ntoskrnl.exe and mach_kernel respectively for security fixes, but it's unheard of that these updates ever compromised the boot process._

I had updates rendering my computer unbootable by messing up the MBR at least twice.

stendinator··on Cocktail Similarity
Should've called it Cocktail Hamming Distance
