So this looks all good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I suggest editing your link somewhat because the space between skinny and domain can be confusing aha.

You are right that other consumer protection laws etc. should be put in place to make fake reviews, product listing swap-outs etc. impossible.

So I think Meta/WA can opt to decrypt any suspicious messages they come across.
Very glad Mick made this thorough post.
Also can't find any proof that they are still a thing... except for this[2] sketchy looking app that has 1 billion+ downloads, offered by "Google Play Store"

Though it probably is some bug or... rapid A/B testing thing Google has going on.
My "new features in this update" section is often 6+ months delayed - as in I will have had access to a feature for 6+ months before seeing it in Chrome release notes.
Thought it was quite weird/concerning that that could happen.
There's some good discussion about it on Reddit too[1]
Only feedback I have right now (that I haven't seen anyone else mention) is that I'm finding it hard to jump to the next "top-level" comment. If I'm half way down a comment thread and decide I just want to skip the rest of this thread, I'm used to just scrolling down a bit until I see the next top-level comment and I'll read from there. It's easy enough to do in non-skinned HN because the everything is left-aligned, but with the extension I haven't been able to intuit a left 'border' yet and am not sure if it'll ever come to me.
I'd like something like this that pays into my retirement, a long-term investment or donates to charity, with maybe 1-20% going to Beeminder or whatever.
Your second point shouldn't be an issue for anyone who has some level of maturity and/or values their relationship with their friend... not like it is likely to break a friendship but it seems like a dick thing to do.
I don't think there's a simple way to stop swatting, though if a streamer/someone else who is a likely swatting target phones ahead of time and asks to be put on a "likely to get swatted, please disregard suspicious calls" list then the police should honour that list (AFAIK there is something like this but it often doesn't help).
EDIT: this seems to be the full one, but I'm not sure how one would check (never played this game): https://archive.org/details/ScorchedEarth
My dad introduced me to Keen, Prince of Persia (and other classics like Doom and Wolfenstein etc.) when I was tiny.
I still recall how he contrasted the comical/arcade-y movement in Keen to the "realistic" movement in PoP. I was 3 or 4 years old, mind. It was great to see this [1] on HN the other day - it led me to this [2] video which kind of served to explain to my dad and I how he got the movement so right. Sorry weird tangent.
Two other games I remember enjoying was The Incredible Machine and Chip's Challenge. TIM was amazing! Must remember to dig that out if I ever have kids.

All in all it likely is worth it for some games if you're nostalgic enough for them but don't feel like playing them when you're at your PC.
I've had more success playing old PlayStation games, personally (on ePSXe these days but I've used RetroArch in the past, which I should probably look at using again).
May as well go with something more direct like "Flexport is hiring big-ego no-lifers".
I don't think the old lady was being a NIMBY Andy.
On my monitor (~5ish year old Dell) I have the "Deep Sleep" option disabled and it suits me very well like this.
I printed a document using one and generally printers hate running off generator power.
I think I was using some utility to force the resolution down from retina levels for some emulated game we wanted to play. Something went wrong and the top ~1/5 of the screen started flickering insanely quickly.
We restarted the laptop and the flickering continued. Then I think we turned it off, left it off for a while, then turned it back on. Still flickering.
In the end we left the laptop on for a couple hours and it slowly became less flickery until it was eventually entirely back to normal.
Super weird. I was so confused and my friend was so nice about it all that I didn't even think to take a video or document any exact stuff we tried aha.
In my experience they run a great store. I also don't think they have the kind of third-party seller BS that Amazon and Walmart do.
