All of Captain Disillusion's videos are great but this one seemed more technical than most - thought that could make it a good candidate to post to HN.

There's some good discussion about it on Reddit too[1]

It's part of a technical series, very sporadic. I remember one on resolution.

The two greatest Captain Disillusion videos are "The World's greatest Blenderer" and "Flight of the Navigator", of course :-)

No, clearly the “Back to the Future” episodes were better than the “Flight of the Navigator” episode!

This is the style of his (relatively) new-ish "CD /" series. They focus on really specific aspects of video production, rather than special effects in general.

Everything he makes is great.

Big fan here :)

I very much enjoyed the one where he explains how music videos are made ... by inviting a Japanese pop band and making their music videos.

I find it intriguing that he's been doing the CD character for 15 years now.

It’s his job, kinda like Bill Nye.

With little change! When I'm watching some of my favorite YouTubers, they have changed both delivery and looks quite a bit.

The Captain stays the same. Alan does so, too, but I suppose that's because he isn't paid enough to afford changing anything.

Changing The Captain would be like Jim Henson changing Kermit the Frog. No, no, no.
