sriram_iyengar··on Beware of Developers Who Do Negative Work
I'm surprised developers still do this in an era of 'frequent commits'

sriram_iyengar··on Introducing code reviews to a team – Part 1
Good start and my best wishes. We follow these on stash using fork & pull request model, for a large project with 10 teams, each around 6-8 devs. - everyone has a fork - no one commits outside their fork - each module has 3-4 reviewers - good practices are constantly shared via sessions - wiki drafted and updated - comments are given reasoning with concepts, discussion threads and as well to other modules - object calisthenics, if required
sriram_iyengar··on Choosing Ember over React in 2016
Ember is an excellent choice. We use it in a real large scale project and really love the 'addon' way of managing modules. Its simple and comes straight out of the box. Our teams follow BEM for css and maintain 1:1 for a component/route and css file.
sriram_iyengar··on Is Model-View-Controller dead on the front end?
i write ember code and for me it still lives a lot, though MVVM
sriram_iyengar··on Ask HN: Have you ever thought of leaving programming for something else?

Overall, they are 117th in life expectancy with 65years+. My greatest and largest democracy as well offers just the same.

Don't get any of this living in the greatest democracy's top Urban city !

sriram_iyengar··on Ask HN: What do these commit logs tell about the team?
Not really fishing. Just trying to get multiple perspectives on whether commit logs, without names, would make sense, to start with.
sriram_iyengar··on Please, kill your darlings
I actually love such code, as long as the vars or funcs are named capitalizeWords. This type of code is the difference between long term investment/cure vs short term gain/steroid. I cannot imagine a boiler plate 'for loop' with assigning and re-assigning and doing all sorts of convoluted branching.
sriram_iyengar··on GitKraken: git GUI Client for Windows Mac and Linux
not happy about the registration part !
sriram_iyengar··on Understanding Git for real by exploring the .git directory
Nice article. https://codewords.recurse.com/issues/three/unpacking-git-pac... is another article that i found very useful to understand packing and unpacking. (I found this when I was building a standalone html viewer for .git directory)
sriram_iyengar··on Refactorator: Xcode Plugin That Refactors Swift
This summary is useful for me as I'm planning to get my personal license soon.
