sourcecodeplz··on The role of meat in the human diet: evolutionary aspects and nutritional value
At least eat fish if no other meats & think for yourself, stop relying on others telling you how to think. Search your feelings. Stop taking sides. Be balanced.

Supplements are a scam. They don't "work" OR barely add little if anything of what they claim.

Richard Feynman, famously stated, "Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts." Scientific knowledge is always provisional and subject to revision based on new evidence and insights.

Scientific theories and hypotheses are not considered absolute or infallible truths, but rather working models that provide the best explanation of the available evidence at a given time. As new evidence emerges, scientists may revise or even abandon their previous theories to account for the new observations.

sourcecodeplz··on Google I/O: Big changes coming for SEOs with ubiquitous AI
Edit: forget about clicks, it's about typeins now.

People always said to build a brand. I think today that is most important than ever.

I just read documentation pages nowadays. Rarely do I click on a tutorial article.

The news, I get from my usual sites. Entertainment, from streaming.

And with the flood of AI generated books, this really could be the return of the blog.

Long live blogs!

sourcecodeplz··on Students can’t get off their phones. Schools have had enough
No, learning is not at all boring. Even for primary grades. Sure maybe some kids prefer other subjects over others.

Can't deal in absolutes like that, come on..

sourcecodeplz··on How Wolfenstein 3D shocked the world, 30 years later
It was great, really immersive.

You gotta give it to Microsoft too also, software from 20-30 years ago still work on the latest versions of Windows.

sourcecodeplz··on EU approves controversial Dutch farm buy-out plan to meet climate goals
Imagine if a country so small produces/exports so much food, just how "easy" it would be for the whole world (up to maybe 50b) be all fed and happy just farming.

Sure they use nutrients for industrial farming but I remember in the past we uses to farm just fine without nitrogen.

sourcecodeplz··on Ask HN: What are ways to combat loneliness and build meaningful connections?
Keep in touch with your family. Don't just call when you need something.

Get married. Have kids.

Love yourself.

sourcecodeplz··on Htmx Is the Future
It is like that yes but more abstract because it uses some special HTML tags to make the JS calls.

There is a big downside though: weak error handling. It just assumes that your call will get a response.

I also used to use them to make noodles in college.

sourcecodeplz··on The Difference Between European and American Butter
Yeah, mustard + olive-oil + vinegar & salt is really quite tasty actually and it's very fast to make and spread on bread/salad. But I am talking basics that take me under 2 minutes to make.

For example pasta: boil, add olive-oil + salt & pepper. Or soup: boil onions, carrots & potatoes + oil. I like these basics.

sourcecodeplz··on The Difference Between European and American Butter
Decent butter on toast is still one of my favorite basic snacks. Sometimes I use olive-oil instead. Add some salt too. Anything else is just extra (fresh onion, tomato, cheese, honey).

sourcecodeplz··on The Struggle to Make Lab-Grown Meat
People just eat too much meat. There's no problem with eating meat, just not every day/meal.

What's the problem of eating a cow or hen that was nearing its natural death?

sourcecodeplz··on New York to ban natural gas, including stoves, in new buildings
One can always downgrade to those 60L? gas canisters that you take to the center and they give you a full one. My grandma still uses one.

sourcecodeplz··on Ask HN: Why is camera-on video chat so much more fatiguing?
Nobody really cares how you or your hair looks or if they do it's just for a second, then they forget.

You could also point your camera in a way that only a small part of your face/head is visible. Like pan it up.
