Supply and demand, work from home has allowed more highly paid professionals, mostly in tech, to work remotely from anywhere they choose and many are choosing to live and work from home in San Diego because of the weather and quality of life. Who can blame them.
I'm confused which claim is factually incorrect, that there was a connection between the Trump Campaign and Russia's Alfa Bank. Or that the Attorney who provided that information to the FBI was was not working "for any client," and was simply passing on information that had been provided to him by "multiple cyber experts" who had come across the suspicious web traffic.
Everyone is driven by propaganda and social trends, it's naive to believe otherwise. If you can't see the crisis then either you're not looking or you don't understand the threat posed by anthropogenic climate change. The fact that China, India and the rest of the developing world are unlikely to fully adress their contributions to the problem only make the crisis more acute increasing the likelihood for authoritarian regimes to take power and act in whatever way they feel is in their best interest, regardless the consequences.
India is lying and systematically undercounting their cases, hospitalizations and deaths by as much as 10 times. India does not have a robust public health system or effective record keeping. They can't even record every birth let alone keep track of deaths in a pandemic.
If you have thousands of examples of censorship over the past 18 months that you can share, doesn't that disapprove your accusations of censorship? If there were censorship, you wouldn't be able to share any examples because the examples would be censored.
So far we haven't seen any evidence of ADE in-vivo. Until that data shows up we shouldn't be jumping to any conclusions based on in-vitro or other computational models.
20-25% is an awful lot of influence though. 6 of the last 7 largest fires in recorded California history have been in the last 2 years. That wouldn't be the case if fires were 20-25% smaller and less frequent.
You do understand that a single anecdote is neither compelling nor conclusive. Many people recover from covid naturally. That's why we do science so that we don't have to take the word of random people on the internet
I'm not sure if it's inevitable given how crucial the spike protein is and how strongly it is being conserved. Even with the Delta variant, which is much more infectious and contagious, the vaccines are only modestly less effective and still highly effective at preventing severe illness and death.
Medical exemptions are the only valid exemptions. However, you are going to be at a much higher risk without a vaccine should you be infected and develop COVID, so be sure to carefully consider the balance of risk and whether it might be better to take your chances with the vaccine than the virus.
Nonsense, the vaccines were approved for emergency use on the basis of solid data showing them to be safe and effective. Subsequent data has consistently supported that determination. Stop spreading misinformation and undermining confidence in public health. What you're doing should be illegal.
Except that they don't dictate what is produced or curate what is posted. They simply moderate content in accordance with this agreed to by anyone who does. That doesn't make them content producers, it makes them content platforms no different than a bulletin board in a town square where the mayor comes along a few times a day to remove advertisements for sex workers and drug dealers or false and misleading information that might cause confusion or harm.
Personally, I'd prefer the former to the latter. Rhetoric matters, as do principles, even if actions and policies fall short of perfection. I find accusations of hypocrisy in a geopolitical contexts to be naive and lacking in nuance or understanding of how the world works.
This seems to be a great example of humans inability to calculate risk. Do we blame automakers for selling cars to people without having them pass a driver's test or do we just accept that people who have a driver's license passed a driver's test at some point and are therefore qualified to drive a car. Maybe what we need to do is include auto driving in our standard drivers test in order to absolve Tesla of responsibility for the misuse or inattentive use of their auto drive technology. I'm confident that over time days will show that the risk of automatic driving will eventually be an infinitesimal fraction of the risk of human driving.
Trade wars are dumb. All wars are dumb. No one wins a trade war or any war for that matter. There are only losers. The winner is just what we call who loses the least. That doesn't mean we should never go to war, but we shouldn't delude ourselves into thinking that wars are wise or necessary. They're usually just unavoidable conflicts that could have been prevented but weren't because of apathy and inaction.
Self driving is a safety feature that will save lives. Charging a subscription fee or a fee per hour will cost lives and isn't worth whatever profits they might make.
