The subtitle states that it is a shortcoming and of Biden and hypocritical of the US foreign policy for not stopping a coup in Tunisia? I don’t remember Tunisia being a vassal state of the US. I’m sure Tunisia is a lovely country with lovely people who are worthy of self-determination, but I don’t think the US can really do much for them. Iraq and Afghanistan have been hard lessons in the failures of state building in non-western countries. The US people are grieving the losses of our men and women who gave their lives in that effort. Tunisia is for the Tunisians.
If you venture beyond the subtitle you may discover that the author is not suggesting military intervention by the US in Tunisia. He is pointing out that Biden is returning to the traditional hypocrisy of US foreign policy by offering lip service to democratic movements while failing to support them or even to bring readily at hand economic pressure upon dictators. Trump was a departure from this hypocrisy, because he was a crude dude who didn’t even pretend to be interested in supporting democratic movements in other countries.
Personally, I'd prefer the former to the latter. Rhetoric matters, as do principles, even if actions and policies fall short of perfection. I find accusations of hypocrisy in a geopolitical contexts to be naive and lacking in nuance or understanding of how the world works.
