For example, if a friend accidentally dents my car out of carelessness, I may blow up at him to convince him that he should be more careful. I'm likely not all that concerned about the dent, but just brushing it aside as no big deal doesn't do much good for either of us (or the next person he hits).
It'd be interesting to have the discussion about flash-in-the-pan companies that truly did collapse due to their original model.

1) Add tipjoy functionality, encouraging users to tip the best/funniest/helpful tweets.
2) charge referral fee to users who you scrape. Each new follower they get from favstar.fm costs $0.10 (seems like many of the people you are featuring are self-employed or creative types who would probably like more followers)
3) sponsored favoriters... allow brands/users who want their profile pic to show up as if they had favorited a tweet. pay per impression or click basis (they could get creative with the profile pics to grab attention)
4) promotion of top favorites across the web. build plug and play modules that people can add to their own sites, my yahoo, igoogle, their facebook page, etc. (or maybe just an RSS feed). Anyone can post it to their own site for entertainment value, but the only tweets that are eligible for the module are ones from paid accounts. Trouble is, the best/funniest twitter users probably wont want to pay for that distribution, they don't need it.
I know TC said names of people who interviewed for "senior level positions" are included... wonder if the lower level positions are somewhere in there too.
Anybody interview and don't want their current employer to find out?
Because it's fun?
How does it know I'm going to keep drinking? Probably because it's only 9pm...
Something broken here...
One nit-picky detail, at 2:57, the VO says the Dashboard will "show how much money we received this month, last month, and last year, in addition to all the money you expect to receive in the coming weeks" The video shows 'received year to date', not what was received last year.
Probably not worth re-recording the VO (it sounds professionally done), and re-encoding, but I figured you should know :)
"Don Deshizzle", that's a sweet name
However, step 1 (No registration required) is not a step. It told me what not to do, which is confusing. I recommend making it "how it works" in 3 steps, with a bubble or callout saying "no registration required!"
Also, step 4 made me think I should buy the books in the store, which is exactly what you don't want them to do... The icon (books in shopping cart) and words "Purchase your books" don't clearly tell me to drive home empty handed.
I like the concept, would definitely check it out if I was more of a frugal shopper, but I often just buy in store to have the instant gratification.
congrats on getting this out there! That's a great accomplishment in itself
A chat room?
I think people would search for 'help' when their parrot is misbehaving, but 'techniques' when they want to learn how to paint.
Also, beginning/intermediate painters may very well be interested in becoming good enough to sell their work. As such, they might invest in lessons/ebooks, which could garner better conversion rate.
