To perceive the world as it is and not as it's described to us. To experience it directly without any thought or language.
That's interesting. Thanks!
I've heard people using Meteor on Heroku, DO, etc. but I've always wondered why someone would choose Meteor's hosting rather than host Meteor on Heroku (for example) and use a ton of other available plugins.
entrepreneurs?
So, by your definition there should be "white non-privileged people" as well, right? This means we shouldn't talk about black, white, etc. people but we should talk about having more non-privileged people in tech?
I like this thinking but I don't understand what should be the mechanisms for making it happen. The only universal (both for privileged and non-privileged) unit of measurement I can think of is talent. Which brings us back to square one - we need more talented people in tech. Which means that people who are responsible for hiring other people should not only look at prior experience, education, etc. but should also be able to discover talent. Which is hard but I think that's the right direction.
Am I right?
Can you elaborate on the definition of "privileged white male"?
Apple Watch is Not a health device and I fall short of imagination seeing it as a health device. The first attempt? If they really wanted to create a health device, they would have certainly done so, it's not like they don't have the resources. If they really wanted to create a health device they would have created a device which measures blood pressure, body temperature, does blood count tests, etc. Not a watch that counts steps and sends taps and heartbeats.
Call me a whiner but I really think there are much bigger problems to solve and it's kinda sad to watch Apple do something... because growth and expectations.
Anyway, I hope they find the problem for their solution.
If yes, I'd love to give it a try.
Just speculating here, but... why not.

AFAICR in this book, the third revolution is referred to as "The revolution of knowledge" and I think it better describes how and what has changed during the past... 20 years.
Great book by the way. I think it was where I read for the first time a good perspective of how 3d printers could play an important role in the near future.
healthier - I definitely disagree. I can provide a lot of statistics about why I think it is so, but unfortunately I can't provide statistics about what I see happening around me. And sometimes it's scary.
better educated - Disagree. I think there are huge problems with the education system and it's only baby steps that are taken to improve something.
better fed - With what?
So... I agree with "kolev" that these 1% could eventually put their money to better use. Maybe some of them are doing it.
A manager object/class also usually rings a bell.
Not that I'm an API specialist but I would rather implement it as:
document.addEventListener("serviceready", function() {
window.pushNotification.register().then(.....
The idea behind this is awesome (although we already have this for some platforms - e.g. https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Networ...)
But the API looks over-engineered. e.g.
navigator.serviceWorker.ready.then(function(serviceWorkerRegistration) {
serviceWorkerRegistration.pushRegistrationManager.register().then(...
Can't handle too much fiber.
but I doubt the author meant it like that.
And no, if you're working on a cool project/idea that no one is using, that still doesn't make you an entrepreneur.
Because it could be a young kid and brainwashing techniques like that could be dangerous. The question implies that the right choice is "Yes, I would like to work for this God blessed startup for the last 12 months of my life because working here is not a job, it's a mission".
> by creating something people want first
You can create something people want and people may never know about it.
Well, the author just described a good portion of the startup scene which do many of these things before traction. Traction happens because of media exposure, which happens because of funding, etc.
> and now before co-founders as well
If the founder is the CTO, yes. Otherwise, how can you get traction without a working product. I don't get it.
