slumberlust··on Firefox 157 released with 'biggest visual refresh in years'
This worked for me. Question is how long until they force it.
slumberlust··on Replacing the old battery on rechargeable bike lights
Desoldering can be a PITA sometimes. Particularly our HVAC heatpump blew a fuse and the mobo quote was $600 so I tried to desolder the leads but it was neigh impossible at any temps my desktop hako could output. Tried scratching off a surface film, using chemicals, nothing worked.

I just ended up snipping the leads and soldering the new fuse inline directly to those wires.

The current safety and mpg targets for car manufacturers incentivize them to produce 'cars' of a certain size and weight to avoid compliance with stricter standards on smaller vehicles.

As such, the manufactuers have incentivized customers to buy SUVs for a few decades now.

I agree with parent. When I tap the icon/picture on the history it should pull up the contact not call. I also find the need to click into a submenu for context bad UI.

Your comment is unnecessarily inflammatory.

slumberlust··on Ask HN: Can we please limit the AI news flood?
Potentially more. Example, the data center articles don't match the AI filter, but they are certainly AI driven.

slumberlust··on Hacking IKEA Furniture
I did something similar, but just bought the wooden desk top from Ikea. Sanded/stained and added some standing desk legs. Perfect balance between customization and not building from scratch.

I'd be hesitant to recommend a novice to pursue a glue-up/planing project if they weren't already interested in woodworking.

Industry? Source? This does not match my experience to date. I see subscriptions everywhere from telephony, CMS, slack, quip, etc.
slumberlust··on Casio F-B100W-1A
Some of us prefer looser fitting bands. Most of smart watch features are useless unless you strap it down tight. I'd bite on something like this if the form factor wasn't off.

I'm not sure if Genesis is vastly different, but the wife's G70 is my own personal layer of hell. The tech constantly gets in the way and pisses me off. They can't even figure out how to do interval settings on a windshield wiper. It's awful.

How do you account for comingled inventory?
slumberlust··on Kernel anti-cheat is an overreach
Why? I have a hard time imagining anyone would care more about the integrity of the game than the community. Private servers are an IP play, allowing companies to pull the plug completely when it is convenient for them.

What makes you choose the 19th century for public education creation? It was my understanding the Puritans and thusly Yankees that spread through NE and the north Midwest were staunch proponents of schoolhouses and publicly funded education dating back to the to the early 17th century.
